Great build so far! What is the plan for engine management? Im surprised that there does not seem to be an easy solution to run the 5.7 in other vehicles.

Cleaned the crap off engine and chassis.

Will cut everything off frame and weld on the front coil conversion and then pull the drivetrain and off to powder.

MoTeC has an ECU that will work with this powerplant.

Per my info and calls... MOTEC can't be used with an auto or used with auto controls and t-case controls. USELESS harness and solution for me. Basically a race modification with a manual transmission ONLY --2WD. If you have a rice burner.... and want to spend 6K on an ecm wipe... this is for you, but not for a functional 4x4 daily driver.

We have software out of Australia to make a standalone harness to remove the immobilizer, fuel, ABS, speed, 4x4 and transmission override controls.

Hello Jason, That's interesting/unfortunate that you couldn't get traction with MoTeC. I've used them in the past on Porsche's that I've owned with great results. They also list this engine on their website as one they support so figured it was worth the try. It might be that one needs to find the right person in MoTeC Australia to help out here but that could be problematic for long term support. The auto transmission adds another level of management too as you said.

Cheers, James

I've got a 2010 5.7 Tundra. Just looking at access since I'm waiting on a battery and not convinced the alternator isn't
going bad so looking at that today. Toyota sort of designed access from the wheel well over the frame. Just wondered
if you have an idea for that potential issue. Like the build, haven't seen this done before and it's cool. Great engine,
definitely hits above its weight class and the 6 speed is rock solid.

Getting all the old front suspension brackets and rear hitch that some hack welded on cut off and prepped for the front coil conversion.

Like a bomb went off in the shop. Crap is everywhere.

All cleaned up now and ready to move forward.

There is a guy in the 40 section that has swapped a few 3ur engines. He has gotten them running and driving. Not sure how well.

I know him and we've chatted. He usually has a full donor vehicle and has immobilizers and many other systems that are still in the harness etc..

When done ours will have 3 wires to connect to run is the plan.
