I know you can buy the laser heat thermometers cheaper these days, the kind you just point at something and it will tell you the heat of what your pointing at. If you can get one for $50-70 it might be worth it to help diagnise the source, though I think it is probably either your trans, or maybe your engines running hot and thats the spot the exhaust is warming up.

I do like the burrito cooker idea, I bet kevin rowland could make use of it with a custom build.

wish you were closer, I could take a peek at it with the IR camera.

M8000 installed

I added a winch yesterday with the help of my vacationing Dad (the rents are in town for my daughters bday).. The extra set of hands and the bumper removed made this install easier. I did run into one problem regarding the hawse fairlead. It's not offset - so I need to buy a Slee off set fairlead. Christo you have a voice-mail!

Tomorrow we plan on wiring everything up so I can spool up the rest of the synthetic line and not have it tied up in the front.

Please forgive my ignorance - can I cut that piece of metal off that mounts the roller fairlead with a laser cutter? (I've never seen or used one)

and now some pics...

A cut off wheel will make a cleaner cut and have less potential for damage to the surrounding metal and synthetic line.

trimming the fat...

1973Guppie cut the roller fairlead mount off my ARB over some beers and pizza last night. I think it looks great. Thanks again Noah:clap:

Niiiiice. Smooth as a babies bottom.

THis is me being super jealous...

Time to change the sig now, Baja ;-)

Good idea Steve - I've already moved it!
Looks like a perfect spot to mount your license plate...out of harms way.

Steve
I keep entertaining the idea of painting the front bumper white to match. I've seen 100 series with color matched ARB's but no 80's. I'm not too worried about the grind marks - the license plate covered most of it up!:hillbilly:
FYI, I would repaint that bumper in some duplicolor bed liner, you can get it in spray cans and once painted you should not be able to see the grind marks at all.....

M8000 control box mounting issue

So I wired everything up but have nowhere to put the control box. It will not fit in the space allotted. Currently it's sitting on top of the winch unsecured. When doing searches I haven't found a solution to my problem. Has anyone experienced this and overcome it? I've attached some pics for visual stimuli - I know how much you guys like stimuli. :flipoff2:

Yes I know you can read my plate - come get me if you can - Note: I own a Benelli M2 and love to use it :hillbilly:.

Your ARB bumper should've came w/ a bracket that bolts behind where you license plate is now. I'll try and find a pic for you....

blingy daytime running lights..

I rewired my lights yesterday to utilize the halo and LED running lights. While I was at it - I reconfigured the way these lights operate. I've attached a pic to better describe how they function now.

The second pic is of the halos, LED and turn signals on. I'm slightly disappointed as you can't really see the halos in the daytime, which completely defeats the purpose of them - :frown:
