Okay. I just received these photos from Proffitt's Cruisers of my truck. I pick it up in the morning.
Here's what I wanted them to do;
A. Old Man Emu Heavy load lift
B. Arb Bull bar,snorkel with 10" pre-cleaner
C. Rebuild front axle
D. Replace A440 with H55F 5 speed manual transmission and toyota clutch assembly
E. Design and build an expedition style rack with ARB Simpson 2 RTT
F. Build sliders, custom wrapped rear bumper with tire carrier, tow hitch, and hi-lift mount
I leave in a week for my trip to central america, and return! Follow me here; Welcome

Sweeet...

Awesome! love the dual ladders and the rear window protection they offer. Is that thing grey or grayish green? hard to tell in the pics.:cheers:

Looks good Mike, have a good trip to Central America!

I look forward to accompanying you vicariously through your web site...

Looks sweet!! Any chance you'll be at S'nT for a closer look?

I just got back from a 6 month cruise all the way around S. America it is a beautiful place to go on a trip like this I have been thinking i want to do the same when I retire in 10 yrs. My wife is even all about it.

PM me and I will send you some great pics and some places I wish I could have gone with my FJ60.

Ushuaia is an awesome place if you can make it. it is the southern end of the PAN-AMERICAN HWY, Anchorage, Alaska is the other end.

Just curious: what did you do in the military? Good luck on your trip, sounds like fun. :cheers:Ned

I'm building what you want and vice versa. I won't be going with as many accessories (not planning a year-long expedition), but my 10/88 FJ62 (same color) has a new H55F and 2H from my canibalized HJ60 and is getting the 3" lift Terrain Tamer leaf springs (a slightly lesser competitor of OME). See: https://forum.ih8mud.com/60-series-wagons/182582-sheilas-evisceration-birth-hj62-tofudebeest.html

I spent the summer in Panama in 1995. You're in for some serious adventuring!!! I'd actually make the trek to Patagonia (southern tip of S. America) if I were taking a year...

That is so awesome!!!! Some day I hope to do that trip as well!! Looking forward to your posting......I was just in your neck of the woods (pic going over imegene) and I wish I would have stopped by Proffitts....Good Luck!!!!

that looks like a great expedition vehicle. Where are you putting the surfboards? Inside isn't a bad idea.

When you get to Costa Rica, my cell phone is 8376 6278, or you can PM me. I'll be happy to show you around a little, and offer a hot shower.

if you can budget it, I think you'll be happier with a little less sidewall on the tires. The 16" rims w/ 265/75r16 tires would work well too, or a 255/85 (or 285/75)
265/75r16 are super-common in Central America, which is worth keeping in mind.

I had just purchased those 5 BFG 33x9.50 tires new before winter last year. I like them a lot but think I may go to a 16" heavier load range tire instead.

if you do, look into Michelin XPS traction ALL steel belted even the side walls VERY tough the Border Patrol uses then down here and almost cut there flats to 0 I had a set on a dulley tow alot got 60k on em moved then to a nuther dulley put 20 more then sold it with good lookin tread .... :steer:

Why did you go with a 10" precleaner on the snorkel?
