Is Your GX a "Truck"?

Sorry, i didn't mean for a hijack. It was just a bit of a prideful snarky comment.

@ IanB & @JLee: yeah the brat is a line-crosser for sure, and sadly no i don't have a brat (anymore).
I was referencing my Subaru Legacy, which is fully a car; unibody, 4 door, 4-cyl, etc. but it's got a lift and a dual range 5-spd gearbox in it, plus a LSD and quick disconnects on the RSB and people have called it a truck.... but I digress. :-D

Yeah old school subys were rad! Pre-advent of FT AWD in the 90s, they were PT 4x4, but FWD and locking center diff to 4x4 with a usable low range...

but to bring it back, I was also going to say (in the vein of all bugs are insects but not all insects are bugs) "all pick-ups are trucks but not all trucks are pick-ups" in support to the OP, but ridgelines and avalanches in particular and lesser so the brat, blur that line. ;)

Mine is a sub compact. That way I can park anywhere.

So... my Subaru sedan has a dual range gearbox, LT ATs, 2+" suspension lift and a LS rear diff.. and HAS been mistaken for a truck :p

I know, i know... But just had to put that in here. ;)

I/we (self and kiddos) definitely call the GX a truck, I say rig and GX too, copy what's been said before, body on frame, dual range transfer case, V8, locking center diff etc. etc.

If your Subaru has a body on frame then it's a truck.

I call mine a truck.

In fact my daughter has decided it's *her* truck. So normally it's referred to as "the truck" "my truck" or more commonly "Kady's truck"

To me, truckness is defined by how filthy the rear cargo area is. I've been hauling greasy, dirty, rusty FJ40 parts around in mine (not to mention garbage), so it qualifies. Most of the pickups around here don't, by that criteria.

I've got some serious garage envy right now- 2 FJ's and convertible KG-WOW! Not to mention the 2 Alfa's. The GTV 2000 is my dream car but the prices are way too high nowadays.

Yeah, GTV prices have gone crazy in recent years, which I think is reasonable because they're the most beautiful coupe design ever imho. I only paid 3k for mine, but don't be too envious. I'm a bottom feeder. I make them roadworthy and running great but they all have serious cosmetic issue.

I agree with you- I think they are gorgeous. And 3k is amazing for one- that would not even buy a rusted out husk here in California nowadays. And as long as it gets driven it doesn't matter if it's perfect or not, in my opinion.

But none of them are trucks! :grinpimp:
