Do you call your GX a "truck"? If not, what do you call it (other than Lexi)?

My brother-in-law gives me a hard time for calling the GX a truck. He's a bit of a redneck, but to me, if it's lifted, has a v8, mud tires and is capable off-road, it's a truck. Am I wrong?

I call mine a wagon.

IMHO, a traditional body-on-frame vehicle with one solid axle definitely qualifies as a truck. Add in a locking center diff to further add to it's truckiness, and I don't care what it looks like - yep, it's a truck. Does your bro-in-law consider a Yukon, Tahoe, Durango a truck?

Is the Honda Ridgeline a truck? Thinking about that makes my head hurt.

No to the Ridgline or anything else with out a low range transfer case.

Coming from my Silverado, I still call it my truck. It gets me a lot of looks and comments from the local "brodozer" and JK owners.

I call mine "the gx". No s***s given.

My issue is "I" consider it a truck. So I happen to call it that just in normal conversation. I bought it to do truck things. So to me it's just natural to call it a truck. Issue is when I call it a truck other seem to take issue with it and want to argue about it. It's annoying. I gotta change the language in my head over this because it's really not that important and it seems to bug about 50% of the people I say it to.

Body on frame - check
low range transfer case - check
4x4 (locking center diff) - check
V8 - check

Only the 1st one is REALLY required to qualify as a "truck" IMO, the others further cement it though. I've heard the same arguments as well, but usually from people who think a vehicle needs a box to be a "truck". That's a "pickup truck", but there's many other kinds of vehicles that would qualify as a truck. And you can get a pickup truck in 2wd, so 4x4 isn't a requirement either.

The example of the Honda Ridgeline is a great one, that's a car with a box IMO, despite looking the part.

So... my Subaru sedan has a dual range gearbox, LT ATs, 2+" suspension lift and a LS rear diff.. and HAS been mistaken for a truck :p

I know, i know... But just had to put that in here. ;)

I/we (self and kiddos) definitely call the GX a truck, I say rig and GX too, copy what's been said before, body on frame, dual range transfer case, V8, locking center diff etc. etc.
