is it off a 74 vintage? if so, pueblo brown is more likely.

I brightned the image up a bit, looks orange to me!

Here is the orange cruiser from the CCOT website.
Looks pretty close after coolerman "lightened up."

I remember years ago Henry Cullibian (sp?) on the LCML (he was also a Toyota Trail contributor) wrote a long post regarding that color....I beleive he said something about the orrange color was more popular in South American and some where else but not in the US, he thought that color was not intended for the US market but at the time the LC demand in the US was high so some some of FJ40 shipments were diverted to America.

Men, He wrote that post at least 4 years ago or something...

That orange was a stock color in 73 and 74 I think. My 73 OEM soft top is that color.

don't know about 73, but my oem lit says the orangish color in 74 was pueblo brown.

This door is from a '73 or earlier because it uses the little metal
strap to close the door and not the larger rubber strap that the
'74 and up used. Sorry for starting this but I always wanted
a cruiser in one of those rare colors. Mine are always tan for
some reason.

The orange color is Persimmon. Henry (and I) put a hell of alot of research into it, and I had some mixed up just to be sure.

To revive a dead thread... I have a Nebula Green 74 (Interior) that PO had painted John Deere green (Exterior), and I had always thought about restoring it to the original color.

I also bought a White 74 (minus engine) that I thought of poainting Pollux Orange.

Seeing this thread kind of confirms my thinking, but I'd like to get some opinions...

Some modern vehicles with similar paint call that "sage". It's almost an avocado color, but not quite as green.

Keep in mind that the early to mid 1970's had a fad for avocado, burnt orange and harvest gold (yellow). These were extremely popular colors for everything from kitchen appliances to carpets (shag, of course), furniture and vehicles.

I never cared for the burnt orange, and tolerated harvest gold, but I liked the avovado.

Also notice that most of the colors in the late 1960's up to the mid 1970's are lighter and more pastel in quality, and then they transition more to bolder, deeper colors.

I like the light blue like my FJ40, the sage in the pic above, the light tan, and the darker forest green. These are my favorite factory colors.

thats cool because i have doors in that orage that are original oem soft top doors for 1973
:D

My 69 is going to be Breathe Green, similar to the "sage" above, but a bit darker. I have yet to see a "real" cruiser with the breathe factory color.
