Is it me, or do some paint colors on 60s just do not look right?

For example,

Red just not work for the 60. It for some reason does not look appealing.
Baby blue is okay...but I think this would work https://www.youtube.com/all_comments?v=JEjSFTvg-y8

I think if the truck was driven as a daily driver, two tone color lighter grey/darker grey would work best with chrome wheels.

Got any pics of 60s with custom colors/wheels/accessories that make it look more modern?

you are entitled to have your opinion.
the 60 series was not modern, when it was modern and will never be modern in this modern world today.

The color in that link is the stock blue color. Like it a lot. Here's my custom color....love it and it'll look better once I get the black rims on it. image.webp

Only color I don't care for on a 60 is black for some reason. Even that's not too bad though. :)

Oh man, I love that blue. Red 60s look badass as well, especially with white rims. Ooohhh and I like tan ones, and the white ones, and the gray ones and the green ones are cool too....

But yes for reason black usually bothers me too.

whg423 recently posted pics of an orange one he saw....not good unless you are a Broncos fan I guess

FJ Cruisers are more modern, maybe one of those would be better for you..... Just sayin.

I agree that black doesnt suit the 60 or the 40 series very well.

I was thinking of having the side of the 60 painted a custom under water ocean seen with killer wales, sea lions, and all the native species to our area on the side of the truck:)

I like the red, but not when it fades.

I'm actually the opposite for sentimental reasons. I first fell in love with LC's when I saw a faded Freeborn Red FJ60 on Mutual of Omaha in Africa. Seriously. If I could pick a patina'ed color it would be Freeborn Red after 20 years in New Mexico.

:)

Sexy.

First in line to buy when you decide to sell it.

;)
Thanks, I'm trying to find a picture that shows how faded it really is. I spent way too much money on this thing to sell it :bang:.

I like the color over to the left.

HEY, respect the OP's dislikes and get that ugly thing out of here, Mike!

jk

Tastefully done ivan stuart stripes would look awesome on a 60 or maybe a version of the 80s pickemup stripes. There was a dude on here with griswald style wood grain on the sides and call me cheezy but it looked great. I like the old school look of a 60 and hate seeing purple and lime green ones, looks terrible man. Wonder how it would look with a spring green fj40 on there?

In the end everyone knows black and tan is obviously the best looking color of them all. Maybe with a white stripe somewhere all strategic like. ... lol.
