Is it me, or do some paint colors on 60s just do not look right?

For example,

Red just not work for the 60. It for some reason does not look appealing.
Baby blue is okay...but I think this would work https://www.youtube.com/all_comments?v=JEjSFTvg-y8

I think if the truck was driven as a daily driver, two tone color lighter grey/darker grey would work best with chrome wheels.

Got any pics of 60s with custom colors/wheels/accessories that make it look more modern?
Agreed 100%. The only color scheme that really works for the 60 series is bright purple with gold chrome trim and wheels. extra points for windshield banner that reads "One Love"

Hi all - funny thing - car colors! I have had 2 HJ45 truck in freeborn red and was looking to find a HJ61. Guess what! It all ended with a freeborn red and decal and I starting to find it very appealing ;)

That is a beautiful truck! I can think of two environments where it will blend in -- the arctic tundra in autumn turning bright red, and next to a volcano full of lava.

This is my 3rd round at deciding on the repaint color. The first two were 'that's the color I want' until sprayed on panels. The 3rd round, which was the color I expected to be my last pick, hit all the right buttons. Dark emerald frost ftw - definitely worth the added $$ and as usual, the picture doesn't do the color justice.

You going with the satin/matte finish?

I'd love a satin on my charcoal gray....although after 32 years it's going through a natural self-satining process. :hillbilly:

Yes, matte is the plan and after seeing it on the cadillac first, I was stoked it looked the same on the 60.

@cruiserpilot - will be putting some time on her this week and will grab a few shots in different light for u.

I couldn’t bring myself to spend $$$$ on a paint job just to scratch it up, so I wrapped it instead. When I get bored with it , I will just do a different wrap. It is definitely a conversation starter wherever I go😎.

$1000 for materials and then however much you want to pay yourself to do it😁. I did it myself and it is labor intensive ,but what isn’t on these rigs😎.

I pay myself with beers. I'm cheap.
