Anyone recommend a cover for the 12.5 Seal gen 2 (in an ARB bar)? Recently found foliage growing in my synthetic line... that's probably not ideal

Yeah, you might want to unspool that, and give it a good cleaning. It looks like a chia pet! lol

Washing machine with great, just don't tell your wife.

have fun untying that knot 🤣
At work some fools like to wind up badly kink wire rope and call us when they can't unspool it. :hmm:

Never had a problem. Both winch lines get washed once a year or more frequently if they get filthy to keep sand from working in to the weave and trashing the line.

I like the weight saving with synthetic rope but hate the idea to clean and tension it after use. One guy in the whole fleet we let him have synthetic coz he knows how to care and use it and give him all the Factor 55 stuff he likes.

Doesn't the hook make a lot of noise?

Good old soapy bucket/rinse bucket for me. Clear rinse water on right... man it was bad.

Taking the hook off first is a solid idea 🤣

I was trying (and failed) to get my new 12.5rs seal slim installed this weekend because I ran into issues clocking the gear housing.

It did not initially clock like in the YouTube video Comeup has so I pulled it further apart. Once doing that it would not go back in all the way (about 1” out). After fiddling with it for an hour or so I pulled it apart further to try to realign it.

Pulled it further apart and now the assembly is fully off. I could get it aligned and back on but only as far as I did initially. After, trying again to get the pins aligned with the help of a friend the Allen bolts no longer go all the way through but there doesn’t seem to be a way that it would have rotated.

Is there any a manual covering service and reassembly? This is exactly how you’d service and regrease and it seems straight forward but we’re struggling.

I emailed Comeup but have not heard back yet

Hi Chris,
Clocking the winches is either a 10 min job, or it can go sideways and get frustrating. I've sent you an email, so give me a call when you have time, and we'll walk through this and get your winch installed!
