Well thanks to Elk Hunt, I have the GM automatic transmission overhaul manual. I have a new spud shaft on order so plan on tearing in to the transmission this week. Time to learn something new!

do it! I have learned that nothing is too complicated to learn and do well. I rebuilt an auto trans and a manual as well. with hand tools to boot. takes longer, but worth the learning...:hillbilly:

I ordered up an adapter for the np203 to land cruiser case this morning. Advance adapters is fantastic. I called to see if they had any promo's going on for the 4th and the sales guy didn't know for sure. Instead he hooked me up and I was able to save a good bit of coin. It's nice to do business with a company that'll do that sort of thing.
The sales guy also gave me some advice on the install and warned me of some typical install issues that a lot of people run into (mainly having to do with shifters).
Shocks are on order and I saved some money on those and I've also ordered up all the steering linkage. The saginaw box on my rig is a beast, so I figure I'll wheel it a bit with regular steering before I pick up a ram and tap the box for assist.

I've got a 60 series 4 speed I'm planning on someday mating up to a 203 ( I already have a "used", but new, adapter for it). Does any of his advice pertain to my tranny choice?

Called FROR this morning to get links cut for the steering. What great customer service.
I initially had July 12th as my date for getting the truck on the trails (we have a local rock crawl "competition" that day), but with the holiday and still needing to make a front driveshaft and have a rear made, it looks like August will be the first time out.
