Hey Everyone, I'm part of the Wasatch Cruisers up in Salt Lake, but I just got transferred for work down to Tempe, look forward to getting to know all of you.

Also is there a particular 2 metre channel I could monitor for a possible conversation?

Cheers,

Kirk

Well I see your already getting to know them...

WTF is your problem? I don't choose to use ham (often forced to when volunteering), those who do are welcome to, don't see regulating/forcing others who don't see the need or get enjoyment from them, to use them.

I dont have a problem with HAM, I have one;)

You have the problem with HAM, did you forget:confused:

Way to make an impression guys!

Welcome
You already blew a rule by not having a white 80, but exceptions are made with bribes in mind . ;)
146.46 I label 4x4 ham1
147.52 is another I label 4x4 ham2
then of course a slew of repeaters around.
You can also monitor channel 16 :hillbilly:
All coms are welcome, even two cans and a string :D
I look forward to meeting you at a meet, or on a trail
thanks
Don

Hello and Thank You to MoGas.

Hello my name is Marc,

I bought a 1988 FJ62 in Tucson in March 2013 and at the end of June 2013 flew out to drive it back home to Michigan with my daughter. We had the intention of taking a few weeks camping in Az, Co and Utah along the way. The truck sat for several years. I decided to have it gone through in southern AZ rather than ship it home and look it over myself. Well... after a few months of repairs, the truck was not as ready as we had hoped when I arrived. After several days of overheating and a dropped cylinder I was in Flagstaff and desperate. I followed a guy in an old Toyota pickup and asked him if there was a good Toyota guy in town. He just happened to be parked next to MoGas's shop dropping something off next door (I had been on Ih8mud before but had no clue who mogas was). He told me that "that guy works on some of them" Everyone here needs to know what a great guy he is. He let me use tools and his deep knowledge of everything Land Cruiser and provided a place for me to work. Not only does he know how to fix these trucks he strikes me as the type of guy who will only have to do it once and it will be done perfectly. MoGas - many thanks again!!! We made it to the south rim and then took 64 all the way East to Oklahoma - great camping and wheeling in Northern New Mexico! Still ended up dropping the tank in Grand Canyon National Park and pulled Radiator in Tuba along the way. Never did get the miss totally out until I got her in the shop here in Grand Rapids. Injection harness was the culprit plus a new radiator this last weekend and she is running perfectly and my knuckles are healing. Love the truck - have wanted one for awhile and the rust free examples do not exist here in Michigan. Our trip was a great adventure mixed with quite a bit of frustration:bang:, without mogas' help it would of been a total bust.:bounce::beer::bounce::beer:

you will be welcome back - it's a dry heat here

Thanks, Marc.

Glad you made it home eventually.

Hey all... My name is Matt but I go by MattMan.... I used to wheel Nissan Pathfinders for quite awhile and have been out of wheeling for quite some time now. I sold off my Pathy in 2006 and never really got back into wheeling until this year (2013) when I bought a 1996 TLC. I'm looking to get my 96 TLC in shape and I'm not sure if I will wheel it as hard as I did my Pathy but only time will tell. I'm a computer geek by day and father by night, so when I do get time I like to plan or work on my TLC. I know a few of the guys in the CSC group but I'm looking forward to getting to know you all soon.

Howdy! Sounds like you are a busy guy, and I know your on the far side of the valley from Mesa, but drop by the shop sometime and we can chat over FZJ 80 mods and upgrades. We have worked on a bunch of them from mild to wild. John

Thanks, I can't wait to get back into meeting others with similar TLC's. I plan on getting out a bit more often, but as of today my TLC is down. Today I busted up my distribution cap trying to get at the alternator to replace it. I barely touched it and it cracked. I took a better look inside the cap and it was a mess. So a belt and alternator change turned into a full replacement of my distributor (Yes I will replace the entire part not just the cap - $250 Locally, Online for $69) and I might as well do the plug wires and the timing will have to be checked.... I don't know how to do the timing, nor do I have the time so I'm looking for a mobile mechanic to get the work done. Anyone know one in the Phoenix Area?

Thanks...

TLC Newb

Howdy from 7,000 ft everyone. New TLC newb here with a new to me 174K FJ80, all stock. We have slowly become a Toyota family (2001 Tacoma TRD double cab w/OME lift and a 2010 Tundra with Toytec 3/1 kit also in the stable), as I migrate out of the Jeeping world. This new Toy replaces a long line of Jeeps that I have owned over the past 12+ yrs ('86 CJ7 with a SBC 350, '01 WJ with long arms, and 35's, '93 YJ 33's). I am loving the FJ80, as it is the first sun-roofed vehicle that I have ever fit in (I am really tall). After the trans kick down cable adjustment today, I feel like I picked up 30HP and am liking the FJ80 even more!

A small lift and some 33x10.50's are in the future, but that should be about it . Still working the some minor maint. issues and am learning to trust the new rig. This is going to be the fun toy and commuter (4-5mi each way), and actually a big improvement vs the CJ7 in the fuel economy dept.

here's my rusty rig, just dipped the wheels black, did the grille and mirrors couple months back. Needs some help cooling in this heat.

Looks likes its coming along nicely!

Hello, Darius T in Scottsdale, AZ. No cruiser as of yet... But am in the hunt for my own cruiser so that I may be a full part of this Orem. Use to wrench with a buddy of mine on land cruisers for years. He is a toyota Master, and he taught me a lot over approximately 10 years we worked n them together. Tar is here I decided that some day I would have one of my own. I saw that quality and what thy could do and I was hooked.... I have now recently retired from one profession and will soon be looking for my second... But as a reward to myself, I am finally buying my first cruiser soon... FJ40 series... Who knows, maybe a BJ40 series as I really like the diesel option. But, after speaking to "Crusher" - Wayne, I might look for a decent FJ series and do a diesel conversion... We shall... I am reading as much as I can so I can make an educated decision when I do buy my first cruiser.

Part of the fun is the the hunt! Keep us posted on what you find ~
Welcome, Eric

Come by the meet this Friday you don't have to be a member to attend. Lots of cruisers to look at and ask questions about. Im sure you can get the inside scoop on a few cruisers for sale or ones that will be for sale.

Hi all,

New to Arizona, stationed at Fort Huachuca but a long-time Toyota 4WD fan. Grew up in the back of an FJ40 and I'm currently on my third 4Runner. That being said, I haven't driven a lot of overly technical trails. Going off-road for me has mostly been in order to find a good fishing spot or to access remote trail heads.

Looking forward to hitting the trails and learning a thing or two.

Regards,
Joel:beer:
