installing caster correction bushings.

I have a set of castor correction bushings. for simplicity sake i am going to let my local LC specialty shop press them in. i am going to bring them the arms and the bushings and let them do their thing with their press. My question is can i remove the arms with the truck resting on the ground on the wheels? Or do i need to support it from the frame and then remove the arms?
 
I used racket straps to hold it in place with wheels still on the ground. I did put jack stands under the frame with no real weight on them just in case.
 
Just did this. Your front axle will rotate forward if not blocked properly and not on level ground. If it does move, you can use a come-a-long to realign the arm holes. Strapping it in place, like Mr Cimarron did, seems like a good approach.

Did you put the ratchet strap around the axle pulling it straight "up" or did you put it around the rear cantilever arm to keep it from twisting?
 
I was very skeptical on it working out so I put straps going everywhere just to be safe. Had one on each side going to the front bumper and two more going toward the rear. Can't remeber where I hooked them to at the moment. It was a bitch to get the arms back in place with all my straps so I ended up having to loosen them up a bit. The first time I did it I bolted the axle end first and tried to then align the axle ends. That failed. Much easier to do axle ends then frame end.
If you do lift/unload the suspension when changing them out Remember to leave the bolts loose and tighten/torque them when the vehicle is back on the ground.
