I hate doing this as much as you guys reading these but thought I'd give it a shot. This is all I know about this vehicle other than the asking price is 1500 bux and it's been US government owned since new. It hasn't run in approx. 7 years. It's a 1990 model FJ75lp truck, body is a bit rough and has 75k miles on the clock.
Question is, is this worth it? I haven't seen any like this but may be worth the investment.

Thx.

Kevin

no, its not.

Shoot me an address and phone number. I will make sure the guy sets a fair price ;)

Good gawd,,,, secure that thing before its gone! Did you say $1,500?

There is a pic attached. Only one I could get for right now. As far as availability it still belongs to the US government and is being sold as surplus. They actually have 2 of them! both in about the same condition from what I understand. I know it's a crap shoot not seeing anything but I liken it to a 40. It's not a total rust bucket it's just rough and hasn't run in a few years but I figure there are parts available but not positive. So, if i was to purchase this vehicle and it's in fair shape what would it be worth?

Only pics I have other than the profile shot...

If you pass please let me know

I will definitely pass on the info if I decide not to go for one or both.

Shut up!?! Diesel?

Get both. Holy grail of never-imported Toyota pickups. If they come with titles, which they probably do, you would have a very rare pair.

Edit: Found 'em. Now you have to bid against me. ;p

Not funny

its a 3F gasser i believe not a diesel. and there are two of them, look rather decent especially at the current bid prices but still a fair bit of time on the auction left. low km too. buy both and have parts if the bids stay low enough.

Heres a nice 75 if you need some build ideas....

You will see them on Ebay in a month or so...

Confirmed. Probably pretty tough to get registered in CA unless it happens to have a federal emissions sticker and the same equipment as an fj62. It could be done, I think. What a PITA. You could put a 6.2l or a Mercedes 5cyl diesel in it.

Neither. And it is probably carbureted, not injected. Also, just because it's eligible for a SF97 don't assume you can register it in your state. Maybe yes, maybe no. Just saying. ;)

If it were closer I'd be all over it............and wouldn't have posted to advertise.

Poor nspctr1, he found it and now everyone on this board is going to sneak attack. That is such a great find. I loved them when in Africa a few months ago. This one is even LHD.

75 Series Trucks

I saw trucks like these driven by US troops in 1991 in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Iraq. Since they are 1990 models they were probably among the huge lot given to the US military by Japan. Our division had a bunch of 80 series and Mitsubishi Monteros too.

I agree, tough to get registered in CA. :crybaby:
