I havent even finished watching this, but had to pause it to post here. It is a COMPLETE restoration of a GX. I am talking every single nut and bolt from both the body and the frame. And it only had some small dings and a little rust. I cannot begin to imagine how much this costs.

I'll watch this tonight. Looks fascinating.

One question: WHY???? On such a newer vehicle without any major issues do an entire frame-off rebuild? When one could have purchased a new one for what that rebuild cost, especially considering the cost of an entire new interior!
I'm also a little confused, The license plate looks to be Asian, Japan?? If so, I thought they got the Prado, don't they?
Also, why in the heck did they do the entire video in portrait orientation?
But it is a VERY cool video!
Thanks for sharing.

I don't get it. I think a decent detailer could have gotten it 90% there. So weird. Kinda made me feel like a wuss, since I'm putting off installing CC and MTS because I don't want to pull my interior panels.

One thing is for sure; if that GX's interior didn't rattle before, it does now.

This is what happens when labor is cheaper than parts lol. Chinese markets got the GX400 - a GX with the 4.0 1GR as found in the 4Runner and FJ Cruiser and lots of other things. That being said - this looks like a V-8 model, so an import maybe?

Oh wow. I thought my YT channel was a waste of time.

Chinese shop owner to customer: “No, no… we can fix it. No need to buy parts. We’ve got a lot of grown up orphans on staff and they’re all paid off…. So… yeah.“

It had to have a lot of miles on it considering one of the shock shrouds was completely rusted away and the crossmembers looked pretty bad. Im not even sure it was the top spec. It had air sus but I think that was nulux rather than leather.

I kept asking myself the same thing. Lol.

It showed the odometer at one point. If I remember correctly it had 114k or 140k miles.

Heck, the rings are just starting to seal and it's hardly broken in!

I wish I had the ability to do this. Just because it would be so cool to say my 2016 is better than brand new. 🤣
