Took your advice, mounted the roof rack on the wide body mounts. Thanks for the heads up, also think it looks better.Be cautious using the fiberglass rails for your rack.![]()

Widebody mounts are the only, and correct, way to mount a rack to the top. The rails over the windows are not structural.Took your advice, mounted the roof rack on the wide body mounts. Thanks for the heads up, also think it looks better.

I only drive all my older vehicles on dry days. They will still get some rust, but hopefully stay nice for a while.JeffD - Great looking 4runner. Are you going to only drive it in the summer, and rustproof the heck out of it?
