Suspension fluid #08886-01805 not exactly sure of the size, but it's definitely the bigger one that comes in a metal can. I think I can get away with just one can, but I have two to be on the safe side. It was $19.50. If the number doesn't work for you, try using the word suspension fluid instead of ahc.

Edit: Got off my lazy butt and confirmed the size is 2.5 liters.
Thanks for the info!

Not a bad price. I have some on hand but I’m going to order this now because I want the can instead of the plastic!

AHC Fluid Alternatives.webp

Got my globes all replaced - had some bubbles in old fluid from LT rear globe - possible ongoing failure.

Bled afterward until clear clean fluid - took for a spin marked difference in ride quality and dampening control on the highway particularly. Very happy I chose to keep the AHC now to address some additional bushings or control arm replacement.

Oddest outcome - seems to have dropped my neutral pressures in the rear - possibly the air in system was interfering.
Setup - replaced all sway link bushings, adjusted sensor height sitting at 20.25" front 21" rear. 30mm spacers in rear and cranked TB in front -

Pressures prior to globe replacement with all above and cross-level:
Front 7.0
Rear 6.9

Pressures after globe replacement
Front 6.8
Rear 5.5

15/16 gradations prior was 7

has anyone cut open one of these globes and see what's inside? I'm curious

Local Toyota and Lexus dealers here in Northern VA were charging $30/liter bottle. I ordered before online from OEM genuine parts for ~$14-15 + shipping.
I figured I’d give Impex a shot again. Great price for a 2.5 liter can $19.50. Shipping is $30. So a little bit of savings.

All done. Only had one liter of AHC suspension. But ran it through and used some recycled fluid in the system that I put in about 2 weeks ago. I’ll get a proper flush when I get my can in a few weeks.

Globes came off way easier than expected. No chisel. No strap wrench. Just a 36mm. I did spray with Seafoam a couple times. I also changed the bleed plugs.

After driving, performance has improved considerably. No bounce in the rear end at all. Cracks and holes in the road get absorbed much better. Transition from Comfort to Sport is now way more pronounced.

Making NP adjustments tomorrow. But for now I’m very pleased with the result. Especially the price of the globes from Impex.

That was quick! Took about 3 hours?

It might have been about 2-2.5 hours. I forgot to clock my time. I think I was too busy praying that I wouldn’t f# something up. I took her for a run on GW pkwy. Before the new globes this road was torture. Now it is vastly improved. The road is still a POS but the ride change is dramatic.

But now I’m getting a squeak in my front suspension. Figures…

Suspension work and sound deadening work seems to be like that. The closer you get to everything perfectly dialed, the more you notice the remaining faults. Good work so far!

Real time question here- I am currently changing out my globes and all is going well but I just realized I don't have anything like a turkey baster to suck the fluid out of the reservoir. This fluid is approximately 3 months old, so it should be relatively clean right? How can I completely bleed the system without sucking the fluid out of the reservoir, any ideas?

Most local big box stores, hardware stores, dollar general type stores and many grocery stores will have an inexpensive turkey baster - go get one for cheap and save time/headache.

P.S. Most local parts stores/Harbor Fright etc. will also stock a simple pump for under $10. That would be even more useful tool to have than a baster.

I was surprised at how easy it was. The globes came off easily for me with a 36mm wrench. I have slight rust on my frame and I’ve broken some bolts here and there (mostly skid plates) so I thought I’d have a hard time. But nah. They unscrewed by hand after cracking the threads. I did soak with Seafoam for a few days.
I’d say if you have the right tools and the fluid ready to give it a shot. But it depends on if your ride is suitable for the trip.
I’m glad I did it. It’s a different truck. But my ride before was bumpy and jaw rattling before.

Yup, scratch what I said earlier.

I did it. Took 4 hours total with the torsion bar adjustment. 1 hour to get them off, 1 hour to get the new ones lubed and attached, 1 hour for the bleeding process. And a little less than an hour to adjust the torsion bars and clean up.

Had a hard time with the driver side front one. Otherwise, all of them came off on the first hard turn of the wrench.

Rides very smooth. I can tell a slight difference between sport and comfort. Haven’t driven on the highway yet.

I have rust on my vehicle but getting the globes off was not that hard.
The 36mm wrench I got that was recommended by another member was awesome. Very sturdy. I’ll share that link when I get on my computer.

I’ll get on the highway soon and give it a go. Glad I got this done with no issues ahead of the trip.
