It is good to fully belong to this board now.
Yesterday I picked up a 96' Land Cruiser with 125K miles, non locked and a what appears to be an un-common two tone. I was really looking for one with lockers but when I came across this one it was much too clean to pass up. I am the fourth owner but the first and the last only had it for a little over two years. The majority of it's life it was owned by a 70 yr old man from Carlsbad, CA. I am going to pick-up all the records this week from the Toyota dealer where it was serviced and most importantly a head gasket was replaced
The current owner had it for the last 8 months and recently put new pads on the rear and the fronts aas well as rotors were in good condition. He also had a full inspection done on it at the toyota dealer when he bought it and had a compression test as well as a radiator flush and new drive belts. So that's what I know so far and I can't wait to get my hands on the dealers records.
So I guess this thread wouldn't be complete without pics! So here you go.

Congrats on the new rig!

yea man that looks awesome

Nice rig! It looks just like the '96 unlocked I picked up last Saturday except mine is all white. I'm thinking someone polished those wheels. I've done it before on other factory wheels. You use a paint stripper to take the clear coat off, then sand and polish away. Up here, clear coat is not a good idea. It chips, fades, yellows, and holds moisture, dirt, and salt under it. So I actually prefer non clear-coat wheels. You didn't get the mega-bling gold grill and emblems like mine :princess:. Lucky you!

Congrats and welcome. Nice rig, if you install ARB's a writeup for the FAQ would be nice.

I thought that was a rare color too! lol We bought ours 1 month ago and there are now 3 for sale in colorado in that same color scheme...

Looks sweet tho. congrats!

We used to own a '97 Collector's Edition with that two-tone paint sceme. I think it looks fantastic. Much cooler in the hot sun than my current '96 black 80! I think the polished wheels were an option. Robbie Antonson used to have some on his 80 (and still may have).

You need to first take off those ugly chrome wheels and give them to me.

Nice find!

Two-tone is really rare on the FZJ's I thought...
Is your exterior two-tone grey and your interior tan?

Yeah, mine is a really light Champaign and blueish/grey with tan leather.

Sorry, but it is desert dune over moonglow pearl with oak interior. I happen to prefer that combo. :D
