If not a cruiser/yota what would you drive?

Got to test the field before making a commitment!

Certainly on a total aggregate basis, cruisers still top the list!

Sucks I’m cruiserless at the moment.

Well the replacement for the 200 is pretty badass. And you still have that mint mini truck

You would wheel a 911?

If I had enough money, yes. I'd have one onroad car and one offroad car. If I had to pick one, I'd do the onroad car first.

Assuming you mean instead of my 80, which is my first Toyota ever, Land Rover. Its what got me back into 4WD. Maybe an LR3. I was heading that way before talking to experts who steered me the 80 way.

In terms of comfort the new discovery is amazing... i'm still in awe of how comfortable it went through the course I had just done in the cruiser last year. That is like wheeling a crowd.

I was tempted to put a defender on mine, but realistically they are a bit cramped and we only got the Gasser over here for 2 years.

And the Johnny lift on the lr3 is like 250.

This guy has built 10 safaris at a price of 90k each price plus the cost of the 911. They are torsion bar suspension.

A 911 is a car every car enthusiast should own, or at least drive in a track, once in their lives. It is an experience not to easily forget. Pre-996 911's will try kill you at every corner.

But I am surprised no one has picked Jag-gooar yet.

Hmmm... Series I Disco with a five speed, or going on domestic side a turbodiesel International Scout with a five speed, or a 4.0 litre XJ five speed. or a first generation Gleandlewagen (sp), but has to be diesel and a five speed.

Yes, I like manual gearboxes. SAVE THE MANUALS!!

If the lottery comes knocking, my 2004 100 will be converted to 5 speed manual.

Love manuals.

Wouldn't be able to pass inspection in NC if you did :/

NC . . . I love you, but WTF

OK - I need to know now @GLTHFJ60 - any "changes" in anything with X years means non-compliant blah blah blah?

The North American Spec D90 was here 3 years. 94, 95 and 97. I had a 97. And that is what ultimately pushed me into Land Cruisers.

To clarify, it wouldn't pass in any state that enforces OBD2 at inspection. The A343 is computer controlled, so when you remove it and put in a manual transmission, the ECM throws the CEL/MIL. CEL = no pass inspection

There's no known method of flashing a toyota ECM to remove the electronic transmission controls. Installing a ECM from a non-us truck (UZJ105 or other) with a manual transmission will not work either, as different countries have different OBD2 standards.
