Few things this old are really in "perfect" original condition and criticisms can be made ad infinitum. I'd give it a go if you're prepared mentally and financially for some work. As you've seen, some of the guys here have spent countless hours of sweat and treasure to get this far.

Fair price: I'm too tall to fit in a fixed-top; better to hear from one of the folks that already own one. @whitey45 just gave you a good estimate--I'd go with that !

Very solid original 45, 15k easy

with what has sold recently in much worse shape, I was thinking closer to $20,000

the top doesn't look ribbed, almost looks like fiberglass, which is odd as I didn't think anyone made one for a non removable top as it is different than a removable top

Yeah I’ll up my bid to the $20k+ range with these pics. Thanks for posting them. Really only issue - and only from an originality POV - is the motor (pics of that if you can).

@jomelo (via @wngrog) has a ‘64 with a smooth roof, never did hear the story behind that one. There must be a source of such from somewhere.

My 64 has a smooth roof with no ribs

Is the engine a 455? Buy it and put a wheelie-bar on it.

Looks solid, not a fan of the chrome bits, another negotiating point?

If you get it, please report back. I know when I got my 45, I was the first to say a number and the guy jumped on it. My first thought was I should have started lower. That was 20 years ago though, this guy has probably done a bit of research as well. If you get it in the neighborhood of $15k, I don't think either of you will be too disappointed.

So, at the time they went from a solid windshield to a removeable windshield, they went from a ribbed roof to a smooth roof. It would be interesting to see it there were any dimensional differences. Looks like we need a SWB fixed top convention/gathering. The OP can bring this one after he gets it 😝.

I am in the process of getting a history and price from the seller. I am not a fan of the motor swap at all, as I am a purist. With that being said, a 135 can always be put back in down the road. I just don’t think I can let this one slip by, but that hinges on the price…..
I was intrigued by this pamphlet I saw on a thread here. It lists Ramsey winch and Ramey PTO as a dealer install option. This rig has both the Ramsey PTO and Ramsey winch on it. Any way I can tell if they were actually a dealer install?
Thank you for all the input and comments, much appreciated!
I will keep you posted.

Just looked at one recently that was in very similar condition, also had a motor swap. Owner wanted 12k

After a lot of back-and-forth conversations, the seller finally told me that they are going to keep the truck ☹️. They did mention that if they were to sell it they’re selling price would be $30,000. They had also mentioned something about doing a full restoration on it….
