When I was in Japan last summer I checked out some of the Coleman stuff.

I wasn't impressed.

I didn't find anything I wanted to bring home with me.

That lamp is awesome..

TH you have anger issues

I know I just hate that they think all the big kids are rednecks and we couldn't handle the nice stuff. But hey we do have the deep fat fryer. I'm sure that has been a hot seller for Coleman.

Should have let me know. I would have asked you to cart all kinds of stuff back for me. :D

The tables and stoves/bbq's were just cheap crap. It's unlikely they would last a whole camping season. Maybe some of the other stuff might be worth buying but for the most part it was overpriced.

In Japan, Coleman is about all they have for camping equipment. I imagine the Japanese look at the US websites and say "I so want that stuff". Just like with Land Cruisers - we want JDM and they want USDM.

I am so tired of the floppy camping tables. Non of the folding ones you can really prepare a meal that involve cutting board and cutting food like vegetables. All the folding tables joints are made of plastics that constant use deteriorates these delicate parts.

So I have designed my own camping table and a prototype is being made. I will know cost by year end. I have used a concept table thru out the summer and I was very happy with it.

And therein lies the rub.

It will be more expensive than Colman's but will be the last folding table you would buy. Will anyone in the US pay the extra cost? It will be made in the US, it will be more expensive than if it was made in China. Will people pay the premium?

Will see......

You be quite. Don't squash my dream. I could care less about quality. Not as if Coleman crap here in the states is any better. I want that table and grill.

Just imagine sitting your fat ass down around a table with your other fat friends. Passing around the bag of marinated raw meat for them to throw on the grill. They cook their crap and you cook yours. Just how you like it. Best yet you don't have to get up.

In the states we ain't got that crap. We got to get up and fill the deep fat fryer. Everyone has to take a turn frying their pork chops and then you have to pack that greasy smell of goodness back in your cruiser and haul it over to the next place.

Check this link for some other Japanese equipment suppliers.

I've been eyeing this table for some time. If your design is of this quality and is slim enough to store under a roof rack, I'd be interested.
Front Runner Vehicle Outfitters FRONT RUNNER STAINLESS STEEL CAMP TABLE

The problem with the Front Runner camp table is that the top is one piece and wont fit my truck.
A roof rack solves the problem, but then you have to buy a roof rack which make the table very expensive :-)

I am solving this problem with my design.

Corey,
Interesting find. However, what's your take on multi trip usage?
If you put 100lbs on the the table,as advertised, every trip, for how long the plastic joints last?

I have the Colman's of this style. The way to top is connected to the frame using plastic clips will not last too many usages either. Wonder how the Silver is connected.

Similar set-up to what some Korean BBQ joints for grilling your own order.

It looks heavy duty enough for me, and it is mainly just to hold my chuckbox and stove combo, so I am under 100 lbs with it.

I have also one of those deluxe Cabelas roll top tables, and it is very wobbly.
I set the chuckbox on it one time in my living room, and I would not trust it, but I find the Slumberjack one quite heavy duty.

I was looking at a portable beer keg set up at the home brew place a couple of weeks ago.
Add that and a catheter and you wouldn't have to move for the whole evening.

I just use a cooler that has a double lid to sit on. Works great as a seat as well.

A Depends diaper works great for these situations.

In all seriousness I really would like that table. Might have to figure out how to make one.
