Is it me or did Coleman just get rid of all the gas lanterns they carry but one?

The end of an era coming soon?

But don't worry. They are still selling in Japan. The irony is the new 2015 collectors lantern (which you can't even get in the US) features a US theme.

From the Japanese site.

2015 design theme: American vintage

"Weekend to the nature riding in a car in the family" - the camp of the United States the 1960s

It became the design concept of "American vintage" represent the good old USA in the 1960s.
At that time the United States, and many families on weekends, and are loading the luggage into the car, we had a large natural feeding a family.Same time, Coleman tents and sleeping bags, etc. in 1965,
One after another announced products that add fun to had outdoor leisure era.
The 1960s for Coleman, it can be said that age was supposed to turn over one page of the new history.
Era that could "camp of the prototype" that lead to the current.
In the design of "American vintage" that symbolizes the era,
A turquoise blue that also fit in today's era while directing the retro feeling,
It was adopted as the color of "Seasons lantern 2015".

Where is my retro USA 60's themed Coleman lantern? It's in Japan where else.

Still ain't getting the fireplace.

Might as well let the kids throw rocks at each other cause you certainly wont be getting a table cloth that holds them.

Yes, that's just sad that those aren't sold here.

But for the kitchen set up, there is an REI product that is similar http://www.rei.com/product/848478/rei-camp-kitchen

We had the same problem with the Ford Focus where Europe got the better looking and sporty Focus RS while we got the boring, bland looking sedan version. Temporary fix with the current ST versions. But supposedly the RS is supposed to his US shores in 2016?

We used to have good stuff commonly available in this country, but the majority are not willing to pay the price to get it. They only look at price, not construction quality. When I do find something that looks good, often it is shoddily made. I find that very frustrating. Recently I had my stainless silverware refinished rather than getting a new set. None of the current designs in stores looked half as good, and most were thin and light in comparison to what I had. The new finish should last another 30 years. Yes, I'm willing to pay for quality and design, it's just that it isn't there in most items.

You hit it on the head. Germany is another country like that. Walmart's biggest failure. The Germans drove them out almost as fast as they could open their stores. They just aren't interested in buying crap that you have to throw out in six months. They want to spend more on better quality... buy a piece of furniture they can pass to their children... That said, I spent an hour this morning shopping for American made socks. Yes I only got eight pair for my 78.00 , USA Carhartt and Wigwam, but they're American made and maybe someone working there has a Land Cruiser and is a member of this forum. For boxers..BGreen ..from California. They outlast the cheap imports 2 to 3 times.
