Interesting how it uses the A/C.
The Dodge Caliber does this. My wife's Saab also routes the A/C into her glove box for cooling food. My rover has seperate unit (not dependent on the A/C) that has it's own fan/compressor.
All in all, it is not very useful unless you drive more than 30 minutes with drinks that are already cold. I once did a 6 hour trip and it was very useful for that.

Not really, the 200 is 0.8 inches taller, 1.2 inches wider, 2.4 inches longer, front and rear track is 0.8 inches wider, with the exact same wheelbase of the 80/100 series

The keyword is versatility. In the 100 I can *choose* if I want to have the 7 seats or if I want a larger cargo space. It's simply stupid to have a newer model that loses that option, while being larger than its predecessor. This means that in fact the available cargo area is smaller than the 100's, since the seats take a lot of space.
OTOH:
1. I'm not sure if I want to know what TPT means, and
2. There are other options than one's kids to use the seats, e.g. friends or family. Or my children's friend. Or coworkers. Or...
I the possibility of having 7 people seated *AND* the possibility of having a really big trunk (for EU standards).

I really like the interior of the 200 and the fact that Toyota kept the exterior dimensions in check, unlike the other Toyota (car) models that kept gaining size and weight I'll probably wait a couple of years for the prices to come down and the aftermarket parts to start on this model before taking the plunge to buy one.
I do think the cooler box is pretty worthless unless they come up with a system to keep it cool without the AC/engine running. The most dissapointing part was the seats. I would have loved to see Toyota finally integrating seatbelts into the seats, instead of continue to mount the seatbelts into the pillars. I really do not understand why Toyota refuse to utilize the seatbelt-in-the-seat systems for their vans, SUVs, trucks, and convertibles.

Yes, it was not easy taking pictures on the dealership floor, but it helpe that there were people checking out the rig which kept the sales people busy for the most part.
I asked one of them if it would be OK to take pictures, but I do not think that he expected to find me lying on the floor to take the undercarriage pics.
And as for the blurred out face of my wife('s), she only agreed to be my model if I promised to blur it out. Next time I'll blur out my legs or at least wear pants.

Live 9.5" Tundra rear axle.
That front end IFS looks identical to the new tundra, right down to the way that lower balljoint sits and the beefy tie rods. I guess it's not a bad thing, but there seems to be a lot of parts sharing going on these days at toyota. I have a feeling that the 200 series drivetrain won't have any real exclusive Landcruiser parts anymore.
This bothers me. I need to see one badly.
