After some cut, copy and paste.....
Your male and the female counterpart (top left in the chart) but 180` flipped.

By George, that's it!

So is that a Toyota part #?

Wait Rudi..that's the female plug :frown:

Can you locate Male counterpart?

Alex

Yes, that's a Toyota part number.
And NO, I can't find the male plug.
Here is my thinking.....
This book has 4 or 5 times more female plugs than male plugs.
You would think that it goes 1 on 1 but not.
Most of the male plugs are connected to a unit. Most of the females are connected to the harness. If a unit is defective for whatever reason, you replace the unit which comes with a new (male) connector/plug.
If there's damage or a problem on the harness side, you can't replace the harness, do you? So that's why there are more female than male plugs documented.

Just my thinking or "Coolerman" here on this forum must shine another light on this. Maybe he knows a plug/connector supplier?

Has anyone ever tried using a brake controller in a 40 ? I have a 3,500lb trailer that it may pull from time to time that is getting electric brakes added . I already have the harness set up and will be installing the rear 7/5/4 combo plug in the crossmember . Also want that 7 wire plug to use the aux wire as well as backup wires for lighting on my welding trailer when it's being used . That thing will be around 3k when done , so electric brakes are going to be a must .

I saw these on the way back from work. No details on make/model, but they look nice.

Saw your update in the "What did you do" thread on the trailer brakes. You do a wiring harness for it yet?

Been really busy lately , mostly working on the trailer itself installing the brakes , reverse led floods and general cleanup of it's many wiring harnesses . Spent yesterday working on making the harnesses for the 40 , cut the hole in the rear crossmember for the plug and working on the underdash layout of wiring . Trying hard to keep it simple as possible but it's still a bit complicated just due to what's needed to run a 7-wire setup .
Had to tap into the reverse light wiring at the tcase and run that into the cab seperately . Since I have to use a powered convertor for the trailer I'm going to keep all the wiring in the cab on the passenger side to protect it from the elements . Also installing a secondary fuse block mounted to the bottom of the glove box - out of the way and reasonably protected there .

Worst part of this whole thing - figuring out where the heck to mount that stupid brake controller . It's utterly amazing how little room is under the 40's dash to mount just this little box . Heater, e-brake, steering column ect are all in the way . Still scratching my old skull over that one , need it basically done today and driveable again for a meeting tonight - better get to work !

Is that a TLC? Hard to tell.

Yip, 79 with an after market steel tray made in Darwin. Very common and fairly heavy. Same tray my father-in-law has.

Got mine all done and everything working , including the brakes and reverse lights on the trailer . Stops nicely and feels really stable compared to relying on the 40's system alone , obviously .

The dimensions of the Aussie lamps are at the limit for running them with guards , had to cut some relief off the stock bumperettes to make everything fit properly - any lamp bigger would be a problem . I've had some feedback from folks behind me in traffic and most are pretty impressed with the look and brightness of the led units - no complaints so far . The only other thing I may do down the road is add a hidden third brake light at some time...
Overall , love the lights .

Hmmmmm, :hhmm: What's the function of a hidden 3rd brake light?

Back to business. I took time to get my bumper and tails installed before Cruisin' The Woods. Didn't get reverse found and wired, but I have Vision X rock lights with rare earth magnets strategically placed for action if needed. Then I decided to run out to Colorado for a friend's wedding and now after picking up some sweet parts in Cali and visiting with a few friends there I have time to post up pics.

I think they are sweet! They are not over bright.. if brand new OEM tails are a 5 on dim1-10bright, then these are 6 or 7, so very adequate which is how I like my tail lights. The truck sits high enough that anything brighter would be seriously annoying to folks behind me.

My stock tail lights must have been dirty or weak or something, 'cause my Aussie lights are way brighter. I have some hope that people behind me can actually see them now.
