I can't catch a break. Speedo cable broke

At this point I'm really considering swapping my speedo out for an electronic one and runnning a wire conduit in place of the cable. I can get the sensor (Toyota part too) to put on my tcase. I just gotta get the speedo itself and find out how to wire the Toyota connector up to it. Honestly I think the GPS setup is a great idea, but you're still susceptible to loss of signal if it's heavily overcast, you're driving in the mountains, or under alot of cover from foliage.

are you really whinging about this? "oh no my gps lost signal for two fxxxing minutes and i dont know how fast im going.....im such a pussy..."

grow a sack dude

 Just burst out laughing at work. That's going in the sig for a week.

LOL - Liam is hilarious... counseling? :flipoff2:

Spook - I like the GPS idea, but really in the mountains, or offroad my speed is going to pretty apparent (ie slow). I like the direction and elevation being shown - pretty sweet.

He needs it. His trolling is bleeding over into Tech.

I'm judging by how often the GPS receiver loses signal for my navigation system when I don't have a fairly clear shot of the sky. I can't imagine that working out too well for a GPS based speedometer. Unless the receivers these are using are more advanced (mine is about two years old). Plus what I'd like to know is just how accurate those are at low speeds.

well i guess it will depend on how many trees are around.....duh

Save your trademark douchebaggery for Chat, please.

I can see that where i'd want to know exactly how fast (or slow) i'm going while offroad w/ no line of sight would be an issue.

Cool from a gadget sort of way, but maybe not practical. A car that is on road only w/ changes in gearing or tires makes sense though.

Still kinda want it - but i'm a geek...

Um, right. your window's down, hanging your elbow out, look down at the ground...how fast am I going? You don't need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows...you don't need friggin GPS to know how fast you're going.

this has nothing to do with chat. I, and everyone else, gave you an honest but yet you whine....then you start talking about trees and s***...

My original question was answered early in the thread. Some (not you) offered suggestions and I explained why a couple ideas wouldn't work for me, and why. You, on the other hand, acted like your typical trolling a****** self from the get-go. You really are a pathetic attention whore.

:popcorn::popcorn::popcorn:

Yep - that works too. Just may not be worth the bling (can hardly believe i'm saying this) for the gadget, vs a simple speedo that on mine has lasted 200k.

KISS principle. works everywhere and isn't $275. and no rain, bugs, dust, or tree limbs smacking me. bonus.

why the hell are you buying a used speedo cable? buy a new one dummy.

STFU, thread was over after the 2nd post. Sorry you're not smart enough to comprehend and get things done right the first time. instead you want to do the job twice over then flail around bitching about satellites. Maybe you should just stick with driving a Peg Pergo

Keep telling yourself that, Nancy. You don't think I'd prefer to put in a new cable assembly over a used? There's this thing called Money. I don't have much of that right now. Sorry you're not smart enough to comprehend the obvious.
