Somewhere in my life a friend or my wife told me that I get fixated on things and just cant let them go. I don’t listen to perfectly good advice and throw more fire to the flame when confronted.
All of the
@Ali Ali Ali threads have a common theme. Just observing from afar up to this point.
I have wanted a 40 series for decades. I kicked myself for not buying a perfect example twenty years ago when I was first married and couldn’t scrape two pennies together (we were broke but in love). It was freeborn red with 24,000 miles for $2500 cash. Oh if I only knew how it would haunt me. That cruel mistress slashes my resolve every time I see a 40 series.
Owning a 50 year old vehicle for daily driving sounds like a blast and an absolute ego boost, good on you for wanting to live the lifestyle. I applauded your enthusiasm and pinpoint laser focus on your final objective.
Slow down, stop heaving cash, research your options, determine your intended use of the asset (40 series), make a plan, stick to said plan, be patient as there will be set backs, and most of all-Enjoy the ride.
Oh, and some or all of this may apply to your situation too.
