I bought a set of these seats which I believe are from a more recent hzj76(picture is from cruiserparts) . I have a 1990 hzj77 with suspension seats. The rear seat installed perfectly with zero issues but the front two have some problems I need to work around. The track mounts are vertically staggered about 1 inch on the driver and passenger side (RHD). The mounts are also wider on the passenger side because the seat is from what I can tell a 60/40 split bench seat. Does anyone know of an adapter I could use to fix these issues or should I have something custom fabricated? Has anyone run into this issue before? Bought the seats knowing they were from a 70 series but not much more than that. They look great so I would really like to have the set match if it's feasible.
Any advice is welcome! And thank you

76 didn’t come with suspension seats, that I know of, my guess is the floor was changed between the 77 era and 76 era.
That's correct I have a 77 with suspension seats. I am trying to install the seats from the 76 on the suspension set up (or open to changing the set up) and looking for advice or an adapter/work around.

Perhaps I overlooked it in your thread but have you considered simply swapping the new upholstery onto the older suspension frames?

The floor plan has some welded in brackets holding captive nuts on the non-suspension version I believe.

People have spoke about removing them when adding in suspension seats. At least that is how I recall the process goes.

I would look into adding the new seats to the suspension bases unless it is a 60/40 split set up as pictured.

As Charles has asked, have you removed the seat bottom mounts from the seat and then install the new seats on the old seat frame/bottom?
I'm not sure that I can remove the mounts but the old tracks coupled with the drivers seat just fine. The passenger side is a little more difficult because it's a wider seat and has a wider track base than what I'm coming from.

It is the 60/40 set up, the drivers side is doable that way but the passenger side has a wider track set up

My apologies. I just looked at the photos first and didn't read your post thoroughly.

Yeah, if you have the 60/40 set up then you will need to find the captive nuts under the floor if you want to go swap that “bench” seat to a single seat. My understanding is that these captive nuts may not exist in the newer rigs. So you would have to make new holes and use bolts w/ nuts. Didn’t think suspension seats came in the 60/40 set up🤷‍♂️ or are you swapping the single seat for a “bench” seat?

I'm swapping the single seat for the bench you are on point lol. I think my original post was worded poorly and created confusion

Hello,

Coming late to the party.

Non-suspension seats have different mounting points. And, as you may have noticed, rails are staggered.

Some custom fabrication is needed to make them fit.
