Has anyone found a good solution to replacing the foam gaskets that go around the HVAC ducts? I've been using open cell foam residential window weatherstrip but it just doesn't last (though I guess it would it it remained untouched). It seems to be the closest to what was used from the factory though. Just curious if anyone else has found a solution that works well for the long term.

Household stuff stays just fine if you are not taking the pieces in and out a lot. If you need something robust, maybe just cut strips of foam and use 3m adhesive spray or a tough double sided tape?

I used some high-density, self adhesive stuff from McMaster Carr. Been 10 years, no problems.

Just did a lot of duct resealing after shredding my entire dash down to the firewall during a clutch pedal install.
I bought 5-6 packs of different sizes/brands of closed cell adhesive back weatherstripping from Lowe’s/HD/LPS. Kind of a pain in the a$$ to find the right stuff. Used a combo of the sizes types depending on the duct fit and location.

Couple options, used a lot of the auto specific stuff:

Don’t recommend the white here, you can see it through the center vents, I removed it and used a thicker dark strip that sealed better.
