Hubcaps Or Not? Black OEM Rims

Yes? No? I need to decide by Monday so I can call the Toyota dealership and get them shipped....I'm getting an extension on their April special which is 4 caps shipped for 80 bucks (which is actually 10 over their special)....But I have to do it Monday...

Whether you like hubcaps or not, how will they look on mine with the black rims? I havent seen many black rims with caps...

I'm keeping the rims as they came from Toyota since black would be appropriate for a '65...I know the newer cap wouldnt be "correct" but you use what you have I suppose....

The only other really visually impacting mods would be an over the soft top safari rack...
Edit: and I really need an OEM or Paki top!

Yeah...thats the same deal....they ended in April through Ralph Hayes Toyota...I missed it but they said for 10 bucks more they'd do it...shipping included....Gotta buy them at that price, just don't know about putting them on...
 
Caps - doesn't look right having steelies with clips and no caps. Get em.

I say absolutely get the caps...but you need to get the original caps for your rig, which are the baby moons with the T embossed on them. Don't really like the newer caps on the older rigs...just my 0.02

Pretty hard to find, but they are out there...plus Ehsan is making some; https://forum.ih8mud.com/fj45-classifieds-corner/141615-project-hub-cap-pakistan-5.html ...check post 143.

In the mean time, if you need to buy anything from Toyota, buy a new front bumper...that will really change the look of your rig!!! :)

No, Those are the cheapo Roughriders I got when I bought the rims...They've almost served their purpose though and I'll be going to something else soon....something in a 31.50 versus those 30's

1 vote for caps (old style 'T' caps would be better....but...any oem would be fine :) )

BTW I changed my rims from off white to black :) our two trucks could be like twins...but...since mine looks like crap...i would be the black sheep...and you would be the perfect superstar twin :)

bling is the thing!

mine are old and the wheels are dirty from the build but you get the idea anyway:)

Edit...this vintage picture of a then new Cruiser is one I look at quite often while mine is being worked on.
