Not all bearing needs to be changed. Do some research and decide what you want to do.

Read Zuk's write ups as he does amazing job on gear installs:popcorn:.

Also you can source Aftermaket install kits from a lot of vendors like Cruiser Outfitters and Justdifferentials and etc. Just an option to save few $$

never saw 'em before .. kinda skeptical about that ..

You never saw them because they were mainly available only in Europe with 5spd

Crap, is that way out of range or will it work? I've got a part-time setup, so the front will only really see use off-road.

I think it will still work. If I'm looking at it right, it's less than a 1% (.8%) difference between gear ratios.

yes indeed they will work ..

Less than 1%? I would rock that like a hurricane.

Dave, you have to do this.

Very nice. That'll drop the RPMs a bit;)

Sent from my iPhone using IH8MUD

Any update? Dave, did you get these installed and running? Update on the change in RPM, fuel mileage, etc.???

Thanks in advance for the information Dave!

Any updates to report on the 3:70 gearing?

Thanks!

I've been slacking and haven't regeared the front yet, but I did do the rear (part time 4wd rocks). The RPMs are down on the highway and I don't think I lost much on low end grunt. I'll get the front ones in when the temps cool down around here and will post up the results.

I've sourced a few parts fro a yard in UK, Says he is the biggest landcruiser yard in the his email is garry@80breaker.com
I was there in July and he had 14, 80 series waiting for breakdown. I nearly slipped in my own drool.
