Got the idea from Rich Costa ( Costa Fab) Than put my design to it. The Sliders don't mount to the frame. The rocker panels where cut out and the Sliders were welded in there place. This got me 2 1/2" more ground clearance under the Sliders as the bottom of the Sliders are now about 1/4" above where the pinch seam used to be. I all so think it gives it a nice clean molded in look. Yes I waited to try them out before I posted. Went wheeling Saturday and landed on them hard a couple of time and they didn't budge. The rear Bumper was designed to give the best departure angle with a clean simple look.

I like the idea . What did you do for drain holes ? The seam has a couple of spots where the water is supposed to run out if it gets in from above anywhere .

I did this on a Dodge Ramcharger a few years ago and it worked well. Did you do this work? It looks professional. And what about Cat protection?

Dam did not realize there was drains there. I thinking I could cut some in in the back if necessary

I don't have a car lift And decided I did not want to lay on my back cutting and welding. So I had a club member friend of mine wild up the Sliders. I did build the rear bumper and the Cat skid plate are next up.

Yes cut out the rear cross member & removed the tire mount. Add a third brace in the Bumper to help make up for it

Nice...seems like there are plenty of LC guys not that far from me. I look forward to getting to see some of these rigs in person soon.

Very nice job.

Why does it seem (to me anyways) that all the talented DIY'ers live in Cali?! I'm in NC, know about enough to get me in trouble, and would kill to be able to learn from some of these MUD members! Nice frickin work!

Awesome, I want a rear bumper exactly like that one.

I've looked into cutting my rockers out before, but I always stop because there's a lot of structure in there, did you leave said structure or cut everything but the vertical wall?

Those look awesome! I think your rear bumper finally may have converted me to tube bumpers.

Not much in there everything got welded to the 2x4 tube.

Nice work. Conventional sliders really kill rocker clearance and this is a good solution to that. It would be cool to to make bolt in boatside style plates to link the frame to the sliders. I'm constantly getting rocks poking at my exhaust/cat and plates like that would really protect that.
