Anyone done holy cross in Colorado? Can’t find anything saying anyone with a 200 has tried it.

I’ve made it up to French creek. I would suggest, 37s, lockers, full armor, geared to crawl if you want to make it past Cleveland rock past holy cross city.

I would plan on pulling line…

French creek is rough on a IFS rig.

Looks like you’re pretty well equipped. @Wafflroo Have you done spring creek, red elephant, chinamans, Blanca, grizzly lake?

Well, I haven’t done any of those trails, but my lx definitely checks all those boxes. A buddy with a 100 on 33’s and a taco on 35’s figured we’d give it a go next weekend. I’ll post up here how it goes. Thanks for the input.

I would expect body damage

Also keep an eye on snow levels

Yeah I’ve been trying to find anything about the snow conditions there. While I’d prefer no body damage, I’ve learned it just comes with the territory.
Please document and share. That’s a trail I would love to try eventually.

Definitely will! We’ll see if we can make it up the whole trail.

Better yet, make the trip down and join us!
Go figure out all the lines and I’ll join you next year for your second go at it 😉

Some of the Trails Off-Road info below. Looks super sketchy. Have fun and take some good photos

I've never taken my 200 and really never plan to build it enough to try but did it in my 80.

EDIT - no point in old pics cause it's been a few years and clearly the trail is getting rough see video below

This is like taking the LC to an EV conference to compete for efficiency.

LC is not made for this type of severe terrain...not even for a modded one.

This trail is for short WB, max clearance vehicles. LC is not one.

Good luck. You will lose parts for sure...hopefully not parts that will strand you.

What LC200 do you have? What year? What mods do you have on your 200?

This is as close to intentionally destroying your LC as you can get.

I haven't been on that trail but I would think if an 80 on 33s can do it, a 200 on larger tires could do it as well.

This came up on my feed - Holy Cross with a 60 series ute, GX and Tacomas; sorry no 200 but worth the watch.

This is pretty ignorant… have you ever been there?

I have and an open diffed 80 on 33s wouldn’t make it now a days.

With the Increase in buggies and sxs’s all of our technical trails are significantly more difficult then they were say 3 years ago.

If the driver is skilled and confident a 200 can do hollycross. Especially with 37s gears and lockers. Good spotting, good driving and stupidity is enough to get most through anything even with a truck that isn’t built accordingly.

With that said, my concern is the 100 and Tacoma. Also I have no clue how skilled the drivers are.

I wheel 6-8 rated trails a few times a month with 35s. The amount of trail repairs and recoveries I have been a part of on everything but a 200 is silly. I also wheel with a 4runner, new Tacoma and ranger. All are in 35s with more clearance than my 200 And they struggle more than I do everywhere. Driver confidence and capability is the variable.

These trucks always get me and my kids home. No matter how hard the hits are.

My list of other trails are all one step down from holy cross in some respects. Spending time on them would be recommended. Going from 0-100 in the mountains is always a recipe for accidents. Just want to ensure the driver knows what he getting into.

You called my post ignorant...and then backed up everything I said.... :D

100 and Tacoma esp if lifted etc are lighter and smaller footprint than LC200. That weight differential alone makes a significant difference on the trail.

The OP has not said which LC200 he has nor what mods he has. 37s and lockers...does OP have them?

I clearly state a properly driven 200 will walk all over a long wheelbase Tacoma and a 100 with less travel.

Not sure how I validated anything you said. Am I concerned about the safety of someone doing holy cross on a whim. Sure. That has nothing to do with their vehicle. It has to do with their experience.

I know what OP drives. I do not however know his skill set.

I did Holy Cross on my old 86 fj60 with 3 inch lift and 33x9.50’s years ago. Open diffs and made it to holy cross city and only busted a motor mount. Took several attempts at French creek to get through. I’m not sure how much more difficult it is now but it was definitely a tough trail.

Every point up until they started walking is the easier sections.

French creek and Cleveland rock are significantly more challenging/sketchy
