Hold on to your 100 series, fellas, don't make the same mistake I did.

Just heard back from the 07 LC i was inquiring about in Iowa, this might be too much rust for the asking price $27K. I'm tolerable of rust, more so that most people on here but if im going to pay a premium, it should be clean. If anyone has any leads on an 06-07 LC in thundercloud metallic please let me know.

You are looking for a specific color? Man. I had a hard enough time finding a clean one that I was willing to take whatever color I could find. I got lucky to find a pearl white one.
For $27k you should be getting a super pristine low model LX. Are you willing to travel? And what’s your budget? You’re looking at one for $27k so you should be able to find a good one.

This. I'm in the collection phase of life. Once one vehicle is finished, we only ADD new ones.

That's how I've already outgrown my new-to-me garage in 3 months of ownership. Anyone wanna go halvesies on a storage building?
Same! This is the reason I won’t ever let my 88 4Runner go even though it just sits most of the time (needs a tuneup).

At one point I underwent the same dilemma except my wife talked me out of it. And this is even getting offers from strangers when we bring it out for errands at the store. Her narrative is “If you sell the 100 for the 200 then you will always look for the 100, so let’s save ourselves from going thru that ordeal and just keep it.” So I think I am keeping the 100 (06LX) for now lol. And if the timing is just right, I might get a 200 for her or something similar but smaller (still wagon body as she prefers that body style) like the S212 merc estate wagon.

Omg, is that what 27 gets you? My new price is 35

Well, a low miles 1998 model just sold for $62,500 on Bat, so 35 seems reasonable to me.

Yeah i only want an LC in Thunder Cloud, the reason is because their bumpers and side molding matches the paint, the rest are two tones. I don't mind traveling, i flew to Georgia to buy my previous LX and drove it home to DC. I have no price limit, i overpaid for my last LX and i'll overpay for the next 100 if its' clean and well maintained.

This color is beautiful, and the only 1 tone LC i think, the rest have different color bumpers than their body paint. I think this and regular silver

@FxFormat I thought I was the only one who like the 100 more than the 200, and its not like I don't have time behind the 200 either! Glad I'm not the only one thinking the same. I really think the 100 is just from a different era of the 200. I've said this a dozen times here on mud but the 100 series is to a Mercedes S-class W140 (91-99) as the 200 is to S-Class W221 (07-14). Both are loved, but for different reasons.

I am on the market for another 200 series 08-2011. But I still prefer the 100 because of its seating comfort, position, seating view (the thin pillars make the style and view just unbeatable), silky smoothness of a timing belt 2UZ-fe, and just the silky smooth shifting of the 4 speed A343f which can take a lot of abuse. Sure the 200 is more capable but emotionally the 100 series just emanates with me. Its got a lot more tractor-like characteristics than the 200 which I like. Only thing I don't like about the 100 is TB front end.

I never liked the 8 speed in the 200 series. I have the same trans in my LS460 and I don't really like it either. Radar cruise hunts gears in both the 200 and my LS.

I'm gonna hold my 100 series till I die too. Its not the best condition but the amount of love and work I've put into it, I can't and won't sell it. Even with everything said, I'm looking for a 200, which is a bad market to be in as a potential buyer at the moment. Low-key I hope $6-7/gallon comes into reality again like 07-2012, it will suck, but I'm used to paying $$$ for fuel and 11-13 mpg.

Same on the color. I had to go to Seattle to get one and drive it back to GA. Pass on this one. Patience and one will show up. Generally when “assistance” runs out you’re more likely to find things of value that can turn cash quickly (i.e. eviction moratorium, etc.). So prime the pump for August. Good luck.

Please let me know when Barrett-Jackson lists a Hundy. Then pinch (punch?) me back to reality.

Quite possibly- yes

Thinking about cashing out on the house and renting for a year or two which would necessitate a storage place for bikes and 4x4's and tools- lots of tools

Every single bronco have seen in person looks like a Jeep renegade. Very disappointing. The blazer and bronco redo’s are unimpressive.

Sorry in advance for polluting your thread FX-

@Alibaster
Agree the sports are anemic. You haven't seen these on the road yet- not rolling off the line yet (summer 21)

Sasquatch: Stock 35's, stock 4.70 gearing , electronic front & rear lockers, 2.7L turbo charged (DI) 6cyl eco boost-335hp/400ftlbs torque, 10spd trans and some pretty cool modular versatility and a buttload of aftermarket support. I wouldn't own a jeep but I might own one of these.

Not to replace my hundy- probably the GX- (the Mrs. doesn't know that yet )

I saw that one in person down in Florida before I grabbed mine. I see how it got that price for sure.

Besides the mileage, I don't see anything special about that truck AT ALL.
It took about 1 minute for me to come to that conclusion. Though, I could turn it into something nice with about $15,000 in enhancements and mods.

I've been debating selling my 100 for a long time... the 80 is just so much more capable, and the difference in power isn't considerable enough to really make it worth the torsion bars.... personally I think the 100's ride like garbage when they are lifted, doesn't seem to matter what shocks or springs you go with.
