Do you have the rear split seats? would you be willing to trade or sell them? Cheers!

I don't think it's a diesel, if there isn't an actual diesel engine that comes with it.

I'm interested. My question is similar to Swamprunners. Not a large market for a "roller 61". The drivetrain is the most sought after and desired part of this truck. Always glad to discuss this if you're willing to come down substantially. My intent is not to offend, so please don't take it that way. I've collected a few 61's and have the room to store a "parts roller". No rush on my end and hope someone steps up and buys this to stab another 12HT into it. Thanks. Jimmy

What is valuable about this one is the California registration. It is impossible, basically, to register any grey market JDM diesel in California without taking it to the conformance lab in Santa Ana for modification to meet California emissions standards. Some JDM diesels were able to sneak in and be registered about 5+ years ago without modification. I'm guessing this is one of them. It's not to say the CA DMV wouldn't hassle you if you tried to transfer the title and register it into your name if you bought this.

Is it worth 11K? Eh, prolly not. Needs a 12H-t which will cost 5k+ in itself, rust, bent bumper, passenger fender has been replaced with a US spec one, torn up interior. It needs a lot of work and what you'll put into it, you could probably (eventually) find a complete and running California registered one for this price. Or import one yourself and have it modified at the conformance lab. I'm a bit ashamed to say I sold my complete and straight running 1988 (rusty), California registered, HJ61 on consignment for around this price.

Not that you asked, but I'm not sure what I'd do if this were mine. Probably patch the interior back together cheaply as possible and put a 12h-t into it. Get it running for sure. I can't think of anyway of making money on one in this condition. It's a project car money pit for sure. Like others said, there isn't much market for a roller HJ61.

seems like a perfect one to put a LS into for CA folk.

Ha. I thought this was a JDM. My guess is it’s from down under. 24v is more desirable for a parts truck when all your 61’s are 24. And conversions into domestic 60’s are easy enough as you can either convert the 24v Alt/starter or buy new out of Australia.

Not to hijack but I need to make an appearance at "the barn". Terry and I are closing on a house in Gonzales this month. Still working in Austin. The drive just keeps getting longer.
