The side 4cm of the ramped portion of the floor also needed replacement.

the side cowl panel starts to come together. I ended up taking the one from the RHD firewall and stitched it in, rejecting the existing one. Like a lot of the sheet metal from the Aussie truck, it had a lot of plastic filler on it, and it took quite a while to remove all the coatings with a combination of media blasting and grinding with a paint removal disc

Managed to scratch both eyes yesterday with grinding sparks so it's a bit harsh walking around in the daylight. Fortunately the truck is under a roof, so I was able to get some stuff done.

First off I continued with the caliper mounting bracket on the rear axle. At the first test fit, the caliper did not look too well centered.

Once I mounted the bracket tightly on with all 5 bolts, I found the caliper alignment to be decent enough. Then, with a couple of spacing washers on the wheel studs (I'm planning to put a 5mm spacer in), there was a slight amount of rubbing against against the lowest rib on the side of casting. So, I used the zip wheel to trim it a small amount, which did the trick perfectly. Now it's time to order a couple of those 5mm spacers from CCOT

I took the caliper mounting brackets over to the painting area and put some primer on. Then I decided to work on the pto winch mounting situation. I marked it where the cast supports join the front plate at their lower edge, and then scribed a line in across the face of the plate. Then I used the zip wheel to cut a vee notch in the plate where I wanted to bend it.

3 more - once popped back into place on the bumper, the alignment looked good and the yoke-receiver piece was centered in the cross-member hole. Now I have to deal with the mounting plate tabs that stick out in front of the bumper. Either I'll cut them off or fold them over somehow.

Went back in the afternoon for more fun. Started by welding the passenger side cowl panel into place. I'm not totally psyched about the way it turned out, as there are more bumps and waves than I care to see, though they're not so apparent in these shots from this angle.

then I wanted to see how things were shaping up with the cab in relation to the chassis and front end sheet metal. Not too bad at this point, and hopefully upon a little closer examination everything can be gently persuaded to sit in the right place. Right now the hood is definitely sitting a little crooked in relation to the reveal along the upper cowl panel
