I’m in need of a dual carrier bike rack that will work with my rear slee bumper (dual swing outs). I’d like to be able to access the back without having to take the rack off.

Load: Carbon 29” MB & Kids 20” MB
Issue: 1UP not currently available & the Slee Swing-outs

Will these work together? Anything else I would need?
1. Wilco Off-road Hitchswing HS32220
2. Kuat Sherpa 2.0 2”

Thank y’all!

THIS.... !!!! X

Let’s just assume I don’t know how to weld ;)
You could do what I did. Take it to any shop with a welder. Or depending on your state there’s probably a clubhouse for you. I’m sure one member near you could help.

If you look above you will see my post about the Wilco Swing out. It made my s***ty old Swagman work great.

1Up is expected to release somewhere are the first of November.

So I have a 1up with a Slee rear, and it folds down enough to get both gates open w/out taking the rack off as long as there are no bikes attached. The problem I have is the rack almost certainly always in the way when getting into the back. I'm about to try a cheap ass solution by clamping this little guy on top of the tire swing out bar and just doing a little spot weld to keep the bolts in place. I'll keep you posted if you're interested in how it works.

report back, that is clever, never seen one of those mounts before!

Ok, got the mount today and it works PERFECTLY! Pretty stoked on this cheap solution paired with an extension I had laying around.

I'd keep an eye on those U bolts...

well, I may be overthinking this, but you have quite a bit of weight out there possibly bouncing around with quite a long lever arm and the Ubolts don't look that big. And I'd make sure the nuts are properly locked.

Cantiliver action comes to mind.. where shear stress could happen specially when ever you hit a bump or pot hole on the road.....
I dont know if you have the space, but a set of two plates & four thicker -8 grade bolts would be best to replace those U bolts...

I'm thinking that the torsion leverage may also not be that good for the bearing / bushing at the pivot. Might be best to keep that one properly lubed too.

..

If you are going to do it, take the time to do it right!

Yeah I was wondering the same. Thinking about running it past slee

Just checked the specs on the hitch and it's rated at 200lbs....which is fine for a bike rack, but with it cantilevered out and bouncing, I think all of you are right, there's a high risk of this breaking. I tried plates but don't have the clearance. I think I might actually fab up a bottom plate that flanges up on the sides to accommodate the bottom nuts to work around the clearance issue.
