very cool thread. Always willing to look at something that might help with fuel efficiency - whether gas is 2.40 or 4.40 - if it helps...

I'm not sold on this, but definitely interested. I remember enough from science classes - you can't get free energy (unless you are stealing gas).

Pretty much. The energy still ain't free (you gotta pay for the parts, replace the stainless steel plates/rods eventually, pay for the baking soda and distilled water, and of course it draws some current from your electrical system), but from the sounds of it, it'll help offset the money you're spending on gasoline enough to make it pay for itself over time.

The additive that I am using is Xado. It's been used in europe for several years. Now there is a distributor out of kansas. It is a nano tech based ceramic coating that is supposed actually ad material to high friction areas by creating a cement like bond on the areas. The claim it can actually bring the compression up to like new. I found out about it through another hydrogen company that recommended it to seal up any microscopic cracks in the engine block so that methane from burning hydrogen doesn't form in these cracks and eventually cause big cracks. They make versions of the xado for everything from engines to bearings to rifle barrels. the ceramic bond is extremely slick as well. The claim that once an engine is treated, it can run for up to 120 miles with no oil.
I used the power steering version as well and it fixed the sloppiness within 10 minutes, I was impressed.
I've gone through two of the three treatments for the engine and it's noticeably smoother. I just have to replace that leaky manafold gasket and it should be running pretty tight. I'd like to do a compression leak down test once I've replaced the gasket to see where the engine stands.

2tubes in gearbox I had problems with shifting in second gear, its was almost unpossible to drive so I had nothing to lose and I tryed that, now its all OK
after that I use it for engine also, I had no problems there but after 3 tubes and 600 KM(one tube after 200 km) in engine no more walve noice (on cold )and its a lot smoother now, so far thats it,

anyway it really fixed my gearbox, and Im goeng to use it for transfer case, just to be sure.

i found some online, but haven't bought any yet. was thinking of using it on my new h55f, engine, and t/c. but it's $$!

Burning hydrogen does not form methane. Methnae is CH4 (four hydrogens for each carbon). When burning gasoline you are breaking all of those carbon-hydrogen bonds and making carbondioxide and water. The temporarily free carbon is not going to combine with the hydrogen you are pumping in; that supposedly new carbon-hydrogen bond would also break (burn) in the chamber to form more carbon dioxide and water.

This whole notion of getting more energy out than you put in is total bunk and this type of excuse to use this or that additive to "fix" or "prevent' some new made-up problem is just one of the classic snake oil sales tactics.

Tha additive may actually have some benefit, but I would like to know how it add to the high spots and not the low spots. If it did add the high spot preferencially over the low spots, wouldn't it ultimately add so much material that the engine parts would build up the point of binding and sieze up?

As to the hydrogen scam, good luck with that. Conservation of energy says you cannot get more out than you put in and making water releases just as much energy as it takes to break it apart as has already been pointed out here.
