Hey all, been lurking for a while and finally have something worth talking about. I just got my BP-51's from Slee for my 13 LC. In the process of installing the drivers side front strut, while prying on the lower control arm to remove the stock unit the wire ties I used to hold up the knuckle broke and the whole unit fell away from the truck..when this happened I felt and heard a slight click and noticed the inner cv boot was stretched way out. I assumed that the cv had slipped off the spline but after unsuccessfully trying to get the knuckle back into position with the SPC UCA, it appears that I may have separated the CV joint. I assume this because i cannot get the spindle to vertical position and when I turn the hub the inner boot get twisted. I used mechanics wire to do the passengers side and everything went together without a hitch. I guess my question is if anyone has heard of inner CV joints coming apart like that? And if so, can you just try to line up the joint and pop it back together? Or should I skip even trying and pull the whole axle and replace the joint? Anything suggestions you guys could throw my way would be much appreciated. My rig only has 13K miles on it so it's safe to assume this was caused by mechanic error vs worn CV..
