Hello all,

I'll be changing front lower control arms soon and am trying to make sure I have the needed tools before I tear into things. I know from our UBJ that the parts are so large that an actual pitman arm puller works better than any "ball joint separator"..

So given the large scale, what have people found effective to separate the lower ball joint taper from the "bridge" part that attaches to the bottom of the knuckle?

I vaguely remember that it was a pain to remove and wished I ordered new bridges. I think I modified an Autozone pitman arm puller to separate the bridge form the ball joint. I cut the teeth back a little to get over the bridge.

I considered new bridges but they would be over $100 each.. hard to justify that.

Good tip on the pitman arm puller.. it works so well for the UBJ I could get another and have it ready to chop up to fit.
