Help taking seats apart

I'm putting new covers on my 40's front seats and can't figure out how to separate the seat bottom from the seat back. The side with the reclining mechanism is pretty straightforward (nuts and bolts) but the other side has me stumped. Any help?

I've taken mine apart (1981 FJ40) and they are currently sitting in my garage in pieces. I cam look at them tomorrow if you like.

Hopefully somebody else will chime in.


Makes me wonder how I will put them back together since I don't recall how I took them apart???

Thanks, but I just figured it out. Had to pop out a retaining ring (which I couldn't see when I first started trying to figure it out), then two bolts on the other side and it popped apart.

I try to figure it out, maybe it helps. I did it last week.
