Ok followed the instructions & no dc @ pin 8. So it's the ECU or wiring. Any suggestions on the best way to go about it?

You are not reading the flowchart correctly. It says,Ok followed the instructions & no dc @ pin 8. So it's the ECU or wiring. Any suggestions on the best way to go about it?
If you removed the 2 Phillips screws and pulled on the connector then you have screwed the pooch on your AFM.Haven't checked voltage @ ECU yet can't find it. Voltage @ fusible link is good. Yes I did remove screws from afm but have double checked there looks good?
X2 fought a very similar issue on a 93 Lexus LS400, without AFN signal to the ECU there will be no spark or injector signal either. Replaced the AFM and viola! Also same problem on a 92 Infiniti q45 that I bought to swap the motor into a 91 pathfinder. Swap the AFM and see it that works. If you removed the 2 Phillips screws and pulled on the connector then you have screwed the pooch on your AFM.
Yes and no. You will get spark and all the good EFI stuff with the AFM disconnected, but you won't get the fuel pump to fire correctly. However if the internals of the AFM are shorted this will prevent the EFI circuit from energizing. A simple test would be to unplug the AFM by LIFTING THE SPRING CLIP ON THE CONNECTOR. If the CEL illuminates with the AFM disconnected, then you have found your issue.X2 fought a very similar issue on a 93 Lexus LS400, without AFN signal to the ECU there will be no spark or injector signal either. Dumbed down for those who aren't terribly mechanically inclined. There was a lot of explanation of the testing procedure that led to the conclusion that I left out for the sake of concision.Yes and no.
