I have a 72 red FJ40. I want to paint my trim and need to know what the original color was for the white tops when manufactured besides "white"? Please be specific.

Cygnus white, i believe code 052.

For a 72? Shell Ivory T302. Cygnus white has a 'blue' hue when compared to Shell Ivory. You will need to research exactly what year when the Shell Ivory to Cygnus white switch occured. My quick guess is when Cygnus white was introduced as a color choice for the entire body.
