Yep, I really don't really care that much I guess.

Does anyone still make a header for the 3FE? Does not look like MAF has them any longer. :( I am doing a 2FE build for a customer and we would love to free up the exhaust flow. I have a nice set of 6-2-1 2F headers I could modify, but would prefer to just bolt a set on that works with no mods. The factory manifolds are good, but for this build we are leaning toward "hot-rod" (It will be under the hood of a very very nice stockish FJ40)

I would be surprised if the maf ones actually flowed any better than the stock 3fe manifolds. I have a set for my 2f just in case I ever decide to put a turbo on it. Very easy to bolt a turbo on with those manifolds.

Yep, I would expect that there is not a lot of improvement. The 3FE manifolds are a big improvement over the 2F unit. Not bad at all according to my old school Mark I Ocular Flow Measurement Device. ;) But if we can find a set of headers, the owner of the rig wants some. They will have to improve flow a little bit at least, and the heat and noise will not be a concern for a rig that lives in Alaska and will be used as a toy. And they do look cool as a "non-detrimental side effect". ;)

But IIRC MAF was the only place that sold them. If they no longer do, then if may be a lost cause. :(

For what it's worth, the best improvement I've had for my 3fe regarding exhaust was large primaries.

This may be the wrong place to ask, and the thread looks cold, but is it as easy as swapping the 3FE exhaust for the 2F exhaust? And then new exhaust obviously.

Does anything need to be done to the bottom of the 2F intake?

I am guessing the EGR goes away...

Thanks!!! I'm forwarding the Cruiserparts link to my guy right now. ;)

Wow... I just saw that was added to their website 5 years ago. Keeping my fingers crossed it is still languishing on their shelf.

What did you end up doing here @Mark W

Any verdict? Better than 3FE factory exhaust manifold?
It was part of a major project that ran into so delays as well and is just now getting ready to roll out. But since this engine never ran with a stock exhaust manifold I don't really have anything to compare it to for an conclusion on any gains with this manifold (it is a 2FE with cam and compression changes installed in an FJ40).

Could you say it’s a pretty fast or a super slow engine? With that changed
