I would like for this thread to be the beginning sequence for the revamp. Whatever ideas or suggestions you have post 'em up. Also we can manipulate pics of real cruisers so if you have some that are usable post those too.

Here are some questions to ask ourselves:

So what are the things that should be represented in an HDC logo?
Do we need to follow the lead of almost every LC club and have a red 40?
Zia symbol?
New Mexico, USA to avoid confusion?

We could do a brown or mustard 40... Despite the inevitable upcoming ground swell of support to have an 80 in the logo :flipoff2: I still think the 40 is the hallmark icon.

A zia symbol would be good.

I think keep it simple and not busy like the Cruise Moab shirts. Maybe a small image on the front over the pocket - Yeah, how about pockets - and a large one on the back?

Nebula. That is all. :)

Really, would it be possible to design a logo with a 40, a 60 and an 80?

Even though I love my 80, I agree with Steve that the 40 is the Hallmark choice to keep it simple.

I can check into pricing on shirts with the guy that makes ours for work if things don't work out with whoever Dan is getting them from. Always nice to have another option.

I think a logo on the front and just High Desert Cruisers on the back would be cool.

Rudy, I mean Rory I will see if i can get my brother and his wife to help with some artwork, they both are art school graduates. Of course I would have to buy him some beer, but not a problem. We just need to get the ideas together.

Hello everyone,
Just read this thread and wanted to let you know that I am a printer. I screen print and can get stickers as well.
If you get all your information together, maybe even a quote or estimate from another printer (so we can compare apples to apples) I'm sure I can help out.
Here is my biz e-mail: timprints@gmail.com

Dan,
NO love to the 100?

it hurts man... it really hurts

Funny Ron, I was going to mention that, but it was getting past my bedtime lastnight

Ya know ... if 80s are for sissies and old men, I don't know what 100s are for.

good to know Tim!

I'm sure you'd like to see the 200 series also

:flamingo:

Ummm, if 80s are for sissies and old men, and 100s are for ???, then 200s must be for little old ladies and guys named Mike. [running away fast]

I'm not fond of the styling of the 200 personally, but I think only 40 series should be there. Just because the 80 series has a Solid front axle, doesn't mean it isn't just as much of a mall-going yuppy machine as the 100 series on forward (in this country).

Hey, I left off the 45 and the 70 series too. So the 100 would be in good company not being on the shirt. The 200 would be hiding on a shirt with a H3 or a Honda Pilot or something. I don't know, they are pretty much dead to me.

Dan

I'm OK with an FJ40 as the logo and agree that the 40 is the iconic Land Cruiser.

Rory,
Can you ask Molly to mock up a few drawings? Here are a few FJ40 pictures that she can start with. Maybe a collage or if she is handy with Photoshop she might be able to cobble (Dan's favorite word) up something that looks like a complete vehicle. Anything she comes up with is probably more accurate than anything we are likely to see prior to 2010.

Maybe to you....

I have the following photo as my computer background.

A few months ago I made the observation that all the "40-build" projects are like watching paint dry. Now, I watch the paint dry on your bonnet day in and day out.

Keeps me focused.
