I just want a quieter compressor... that thing gives me a headache and I'm sure the neighbors hate it. See you in a week!

Hi Everyone, A few of you know me here, but I thought I would formally introduce myself... SandiaFJ40 is my handle. I go by C.J. My rig is a '75 FJ40 that I have been working on for a while now. It's getting close to being done, so I might as well post up a picture or two. Beno is a friend and jstincse is not far from my house... DanS HJ-45 is a friend as well... Looking forward to meeting you guys soon!

Great looking 40. Do you have a build thread? If not what are the specs on this particular forty?

damn! I thought my trailer was cool, but yours is PURTY!

I do not, but I can elaborate a little... 2FE, TBI Howell Injection system, Saginaw Power steering, HEI distributor, OME lift, Aux fuel tank, 6 point cage, electronic gauges, rear fold-n-stow bench seat. It's been involved... It you would like anything specific, please PM me. Thanks.

A 2FE is a 3FE head and fuel/induction systems (Toyota Port Fuel Injection) bolted to a 2F bottom end, -see Pappy's build thread. From the context above, I am guessing you have a 2F with a GM TBI fuel injector bolted on the 2F's carbureted intake?

Yes, you are correct. Appreciate you catching that! It was early this morning and I was trying to rattle off in my head everything that had been done to my rig. I am planning to do a 3B swap soon and adding a turbo. Let the good times roll!! :D Isaac, were you in the Marines?

rokdaddy = Rokwel

Hello from Cedar Crest. I’m a long time Cruiser fan but I’ve never owned one. Came close to pulling the trigger on a few over the years though.

Our current fleet includes a fifth gen 4Runner, a first gen double cab Tundra and a first gen Nissan Xterra. My son and I spent the summer rebuilding the engine on the Xterra and as of this evening, we are knee deep in electrical system upgrades - high output alternator, heavy gage battery/ground cables, LED lightbars all around and an OBA system. As soon as we get the OBA in, we’ll install front and rear air lockers and re-gear the diffs for 33” BFG KM2’s. If things go smoothly, we hope to re-gear the transfer case with crawler gears by the end of the month.

The long term plan is to give the Tundra and 4Runner the same treatment, so it looks like it will be a while before I will have a Cruiser. I guess that’s a big part of why I’m here… to enjoy everyone else’s ‘till I get my own.

Hey Rokwel,

Welcome to the madness! It sounds like you have plenty of projects to keep you busy. There are couple of cruiserheads who live just over the hill from you in Tijeras. Hope to run into you someday and I'd like to check out the Xterra's drivetrain as I'm not familiar with those in any shape or form.

Blaine,
Are the wheels on your truck those Hutchinson run flat ones??

Daisy

Yes, they are the Hutchinson internal beadlock... They don't have run flat capability though.

Hello HDC

Gokracer1 aka Adam

I am fairly new to the LC world and picked up my 98 LX470 over the summer. I am not really new to wheeling, I have a 08 JK Rubicon pretty well built but is too small and not the best to drive on long trips.. That is where the LX came along.

I have lived here in Abq my whole life and don't spend as much time online as I used to (Used to be a Moderator for Jk-Forum). And I think that is a good thing being I will just find things to buy for the Rig!

I was invited over by slimbudda via a CL posting I had a few months back. I have been meaning to chime and now finally got a chance to. Looking forward to maybe doing some runs and checking out some rigs.

So far the LX is sitting with 165k Miles
I have done the following:

285/70R16 BFG's Full set including spare

Eezi Awn Series 3 1600 RTT
