I work w/Shawn, met some of ya'll at ?Evan's? house in Gutierrez Canyon a few years back. Just met David: he hooked me up w/a tailgate & door. (muchas gracias!!)

Juane Tobascofish speaking, charter member of HDC. But now, out in the cold.
That is no longer my rig over there in my avatar.
As you can see, my former rig was a 1992 Caterpillar 345B excavator. The original 320 hp supercharged Cat diesel was replaced with a TBI 350. OME suspension, pneumatic lockers, NV4500, Stout armor, and a 38" bucket. I sold it a few years ago to a addict on ih8mud, who sold it to another ih8mud lifer.
If I could remember how to change the picture it would probably show our current rig, an 80 series dozer.

Velardechile here! My name is Tim M. a rookie in this group. I'm up in northern NM, and drive a '91 fj80. Looking forward to meeting members, tried to get info on this latest run but couldn't make it.

Tim,

Sorry nobody replied to your question about where we were planning to go for the Superbowl run. The most convenient location that gets a lot of runs is the Jemez. It's convenient to the Albuquerque and Santa Fe people. Our typical schedule is to meet at the "North Portal" (HWY 550 and 528 west of Bernalillo) at 9:00 for the Albuquerque metro people and then at the intersection of Hwy 4 and 126 at La Cueva at ~ 10:15 for the Santa Fe and Espanola members. If you have knowledge of the trails in northern NM, you could probably convince several of us to come closer to where you live just to have a change of pace. I'd like to explore the Chama and Red River areas. I know there are also some roads east of the town of Pecos and south of the wilderness area.

Marc,
Thanks for the reply. The Jemez is a pretty fun place to run about, and it's only 40 miles from my place. I also like the Red River area, quite a few runs there like, Goose Lake, and Fourth of July.
Quite a few roads near Taos too.
Would like to host a run in the summer up here. We could use my place as a "base camp".
But I'm getting ahead of my self, I could get kicked out of the group the first time you meet me!!
Anyways, Thanks again for the reply and hope to get together with HDC soon. Tim

I'm Dean M. I live in Sandia Park & drive a ‘98 100. I have an IH8MUD sticker on the rear window. So I usually stand out compared to the mall cruisers. (no pun intended)
I would enjoy coming to some meetings, but you had them on the first Saturdays?
I have trials competitions the first Sunday, so I usually use Saturday to get it ready or traveling to the event.

Excellent thread Jon!

I too would love to go on some runs in other areas of northern NM and southern CO.

Welcome to all the new posters! August should be an excellent meeting - see here for details:

'87 Chevy 3/4 ton w/6.2L diesel for the cruiser this fall...hopefully

Live in ABQ. I will try to make the August meeting to meet everyone. I would love to show you all some trails out at my old stomping grounds in Gallup and the Zuni Mountains. BTW there is a guy selling an FJ62 up the street from my house. It is blue, has 214k, and I think he is asking around $3k.

Chris - Welcome. We'll look forward to meeting you in August and talking trucks. I'd like to see a diesel 60 project - I hope that works out for you.
