The 60 had this option as well, installed on those with factory PTO winches IIRC.

and if you have a belt driven York air compressor, a little bump up will help with the air output.

Awesome price.. and I've seen Phil's setup, cable looks like it's meant to be there.. Nothing aftermarket looking to it.. No sense in paying 10X more for basically the same item! Most things I'll do OEM, this is just not one of them!

I've wanted the throttle cable for some time to complement my winch setup, but just could not reationalize paying $150 for a simple nothing special cable!

Thought it was standard on all FJ60s I would think it was even a better option with a electric winch. The only safe way to operate a PTO winch is with someone in the driver's seat to controll the clutch and PTO lever. So a hand throttle is not needed but nice. Some electric winches come with remote control so you can be out of the cab. But the winch motor is just a single motor so depening on how hard the pull and how full the spool we help determine that amp draw. Increasing the idle will help the alternator output keeping the voltage up. Higherr voltage = lower amperage. Plus under low voltage the winch motor will over heat faster. Without a hand throttle it's harder to take advantage of the winch remote control.

I got this throttle cable, I'll be checking out your install at the CSC meeting so I can install mine! Got it off ebay for something like $15 IIRC? Anyhow looking forward to installing it.. The finish + materials quality are as good or better than any item Toyota put in the cruiser! GRET FIND!

Just did this tonite. Thanks for the ebay link. I used bicycle parts to put it together, and a 9/16" fine thread nut from the parts store.

1984 FJ60 has the mount for it, but not the knob and cable. Think this would be a cool addition, and once I check the length of cable, may be a nice replacement for my broken choke cable as well. Don't really care if it lights the light or not, just so that I can start the beast on a cold morning.

This was original equipment on my Venezuelan 80 and I use it all the time to keep the RPMs at about 1500 while I air up with the Puma. Keeps the engine cool while providing enough juice for the amp hungry Puma.

Should work. IIRC, they do have some adjustment in them for the actual idle speed. John

I have a couple friends (non-LC) with York systems that have used the same system for several years successfully. They wire it with the compressor mag start relay.

My Toro throttle lock has been 100X better than the factory set up after ~4 years and I use it all the time.

How has your high dollar factory throttle lock been holding up?

I used a one part fits all choke cable from autozone, cost about $8 and has served me well for 4 years. I had a coaxial cable joiner and used that to run the cable through at the go pedal with a jam nut.
