3rd Toyota to install it into....I have the 2020 HE and the problem is (always) determining where the control head will go. I have the Yaesu 400 Welcome to Yaesu.com

It's a great unit and the control head allows a dual band site picture. The actual radio itself; I have found a good location for in the rear where the factory jack is stored.

Do any of you have a drawing of the contents of the box on the windshield that attaches the rear view mirror to the glass? I was thinking of mounting it there just beneath the mirror. Any other ideas are welcome as well.

Can you show how you are mounting the body in the jack cubby?

Short RAM Mount, too (don’t recall the model).

Ball mount for head from HUDDEXPO

The body is mounted to my ARB drawers (and powered by a battery on the other side of the drawers).

Personally, I like mounting the faceplate where it neither obstructs my view nor intrudes into passenger space.
This spot works really well (same Yaesu) and avoids both issues:

How is this connected to your A pillar? The rest of the mounting is the 1 inch ball ram mount stuff, correct?

This is temporary, as I plan to Dremmel the sides out and then attachthe actual frame that holds the body to the plastic. The sammler item is the SMR (swapmyrig) unit that is a great system as well.

@DPA200 It is a Relion RB75 75AH LiFePo battery. Also have a Redarc BCDC40 and a Switch-Pro in the back. Custom bracket from Slee to mount it - rock solid.

The battery fits snugly - doubt one could fit a larger battery there.

Battery runs ham radio, cell booster, fridge, lights, aux ports. Charges quickly when the engine is on. Has enough power that I’ve not yet run out - doubt I will even in the back country for a week or more, as the redarc charges so quickly.

@aka2006 It is under the passenger side wing against the drawers. Data port up. Extension cables necessary.

Don’t have a picture with the top off. Will try to get one this afternoon.

Hey @Hants do you have any pics of your battery in the arb wing? I’d Also love to see pics of your 1240 and switch pro location. I’m considering doing almost the exact same switch pro, 1240 (with Slee mount), and Relion or similar in the wing of Dobinson drawers
