I'm sure you didn't mean to do this, but please, let's not add further confusion to this thread.
The sun doesn't "burn" hydrogen. It fuses hydrogen nucleii to form helium nucleii. Using hydrogen as a fuel in an oxidation reaction burns orders of magnitude cooler. .)

Okay, so have we officially transformed this thread into a "cold fusion" energy thread?

Personally, I'd rather discuss the air speed velocity of an un-ladened swallow.:)

African or European?

No. It's real fusion. The mass of 4 Hydrogen molecules is less than the mass of one Helium molecule. The difference in mass is converted to energy (E=MC2). It's real fusion.

Hydrogen, as an element is H. Hydrogen, as a gas molecule, is H2. Oxygen as an element in O. Oxygen we breath (gas molecule) is O2. HHO is one covalently bonded molecule. It is not a mixture of parts. HHO (H2O) as a molecule, is water - period, end of story.

Agree absolutely. Hydrogen more or less only exists as a molecule and not as an element.

Agree. See above.

FWIW, this thread is fascinating and maybe there's something to this but I have severe doubts (as in I don't belive it, not I don't believe improvements are possible). One last thing. I didn't quote one thread but someone said it would be perpetual motion if this worked. That isn't true until you get to 100% efficiency on combustion of gasoline in an engine. If engines were 100% efficient and you were using the engine to produce the gas to improve the engine, etc. etc. then that would be bordering on perpetual motion (still not quite there though).

I'll shut up now.

HAhahhaahah Concrete I'm in that video!
I'm the tall guy in the green shirt with the black rim glasses :p

That YouTube video gives the same proof as everything else related to this topic. . . none. Just a bunch of guys trying to sell snake oil.

The term "fuel cell" is the new miracle diet pill. A fuel cell takes pure Hydrogen gas (H2) and adds atmospheric (or compressed) Oxygen gas (O2) to produce electricity, water and heat. Even if all the claims of HAFC are true, there is no place for a “fuel cell” in that system. The car’s alternator is producing the electricity.

I’ve also seen a “fuel cell” being sold as a source of electrical power at a major electronics show. Supposedly, all you do is add water to this “fuel cell” and it produces electricity for a finite amount of time. This is billed as a miracle energy source from water! It is only an electrolytic “wet cell” battery. Just like the one in your car. You buy this battery dry and when you add water, it makes the connection between the anode and diode. They even specify that you should not use distilled water! If it’s making power out of water, then why can’t you use distilled water? Because distilled water does not conduct electricity, that’s why! It’s just a battery. They sell these miracle “fuel cells” for $400. They produce the same energy as a common 6 volt battery you buy for $8.

Bottom line is this. If you see or hear the words “fuel cell” it is a scam.

ok. I'm tired of the crap. NOONE IS SELLING ANYONE ANYTHING I have a freakin build log. I am done with this thread. I do not want to convince anyone of anything. its not my job. I have things Id much prefer doing. I have new 02 sensors arriving today but Im done with this thread.
Thanks.

Blake, don't be like that.

Just put up some real numbers that will do all the talking. That is what everyone is waiting to see. People are wanting to call BS, but if you can prove otherwise, the the joke is on them.

Just tune it, dyno it, run the numbers and post up. Either it works or its BS.

HAH Dyno it? I am seeing 120 miles to 1/4 tank all c1ty miles- filled up, measured the gas and that added up to 18mpg city. Ill never prove it unless I spend a crap load of money im not willing to do. Ill tune it and post up numbers from a standard orange test but im gonna ignore the little pricks. Believe it or not I could care less. I dont benefit from people on this board believing it or not :p

Blake,

You're right. The "snake oil" comment was unwarrented. I apologize.

As an EE reading this thread, I have to say that it hurts my head a lot. I have nothing agains SS_storm, he's just trying to document his install. The REAL pain is that it proves nothing one way or the other. There's no scientific process being implemented, it's all seat of the pants, mpg measurements based on different days, conditions, engine load, phase of the moon etc etc. No performance criteria, no engine longevity criteria.

We have magnets to ionize fuel, fuel cells making fuel (hydrogen/oxygen) and lots of other hocus pocus statements. The only part that makes any sense is adding acetone/xylene to the fuel tank...

We have money back guarantees only if installed by a trained & competent installer - whatever that is. Presumably the money back is on the kit if YOU can prove that everything was installed/tuned perfectly and the system didn't deliver. Then presumably you have to get your money back from the installer. Gives me a real warm & fuzzy feeling...

Companies like toyota that have spent a fortune developing hybrid technology must be totally insane when they could have increased their fleet mpg 50+ % using this 'technology'. At least they could have installed the magnets on the fuel lines...

cheers,
george.

broken ihmud double post :)

Blake- just ignore the naysayers, post whatever data you are able, and you will satisfy a LOT of peoples' curiosity. If the people who are complaining about non-scientific testing are willing to put their money where their mouth is, you could even setup a fund for people to contribute to for a dyno test run. Something tells me this last suggestion will produce sudden silence from all those asking for a dyno run instead of some cash to make it happen.

I'll through in $25.00! But I have not been one of the guys ripping into Blake. I've said it once and I'll say it again. I think Blake is doing us all a service buy testing on his own rig.

Dave

Yep, please don't give up posting as lots of people are monitoring this thread out of simple, non hostile curiosity.
Just look at the number of views it got in less than four weeks. Of course, "mileage increase" is quite a bait for 80 owners, like reviving the SOCD thread in the chit-chat section.:D

Well said! Yeah Blake don't give up!!!

I'm just old enough to remember way back during the "energy crisis" in the early 70's, when I was a boy. Our next door neighbor bought this vacuum hose thingy. Just find a vacuum hose that goes to the carburetor, cut the hose, install the thingy in between the two hoses. Adjust it until you don't hear any more hissing sound. Then read the instructions that had all the warnings about bad driving habits that caused lower gas mileage.

Is this just a more modern, much more sophisticated version of the above device? I have no idea.

Having a father that is involved with theoretical physics who has also experimented with a few of his own engines using some very interesting fuels, I know that there are alternatives to what we are using today.

I'd love for it to work, but I'm very skeptical. I'm idealistic enough to believe that if something really does help improve gas mileage, that it will be embraced by the marketplace.

I've always read/heard said how the people on IH8Mud are the coolest, most respectful and helpful bunch of people on the whole planet.
But, if this were the first thread I ever read on this board, I would find it very difficult to believe.
I am very disappointed.

couldnt agree more, Pirate here we come:frown:

Everyones entitled to there own opinion but sheesh people give the guy break if this thread really bothers some of you so much all you can do is post how funny you think it is then dont bother reading it any more, pretty simple solution.
