I believe my H 55 is still original. Was wondering what would be going out to make 1st and reverse harder to difficult to engage. Starting thinking about the need to rebuild or replace in the near future.

If it's just 1st and reverse more likely to be a clutch disengagement issue then the transmission itself. Clutch hydraulics is where I would start anyways.

Hmm… new clutch and assorted parts about 3 yrs ago. It does sound like my throw out bearing is already chirping
