Crazy that these different two vehicles are lumped together here as if they were just slightly different versions of the same.

Agreed I think that between the different interiors, engines and transmissions they should be broken out seperate.

And what about getting a GX without a moonroof?
it would depend on your dealer allocation.
Not sure if they already know they are specifically getting yet though but no reason why it shouldn't possibly be part of the first run of vehicles, just depends if you are lucky to find one available for sale without waiting and without a crazy markup.

I guess my question is less about allocations and more about whether or not the GX will even be available here in the US without a moonroof. Several of the overseas videos and press content shows it without a sunroof, but sometimes the US market gets saddled with this stuff no matter what. There is a recent trend for Lexus to offer some vehicles without a sunroof (NX, RX, etc) and I was hoping they'd extend the same courtesy to the GX (and LX...haha, right).

It could be possible. I guess we will know when official specs are out.
Would be interesting to see how much the cheapest possible lowest optioned GX550 would go for.

Might have found the answer to my own question: https://www.lexus.com/content/dam/lexus/documents/fcv/MY24-Lexus-GX-POG.pdf

The order guide appears to show all trims beside the GX Luxury+ get the "Power tilt-and-slide moonroof with roof rails", and the GX Luxury+ gets the "Dynamic Sky panorama glass roof". The GX Overtrail has "Black utility roof rails" but it's unclear if that replaces the "Power tilt-and-slide moonroof with roof rails" - but unlikely. All US videos of GX Overtrail trims have had a moonroof.

So likely it'll just be the 1958 Prado for us super tall folks as I doubt the First Edition won't include a moonroof,

Was the info you posted above only for the LC250 or for both?

Thanks in advance!

LC250. Only thing about GX550 was it will be built on same line as LC250.

I mostly only asked Qs about the LC250 (specifically 1958 Edition), since that is the only one I had not yet seen. Saw the others (Tacoma, LC250, and GX550 already).

We are #5 on the list at our local dealership for a GX. They are telling us sometime in January they expect their first allotment. This started as a deposit on a 2023 GX. While we were waiting the 24 was announced so we moved over to that waiting list. At the time there were no 23s on the lot. Now they're are 15 of them piling up.

I exchanged a couple messages with my local Lexus dealer (SF Bay Area) that doesn't do upward market adjustments. Here's what they said regarding base/no-moonroof and availability:

"We have 50+ customers waiting on the new GX. As far as i have learnt, all GX in Premium package or above has moonroof equipped already, and there was no base model GX shipped from Japan to US before...[W]e estimate the new GX will hit the store before Christmas."

This suggests that the GX lacks a rear locker except for the two "Overtrail" trims.
